One more time, PUHLEEZE, for someone (thats me) who cant understand how to do it from the forums skill section.
Real slow and step by step please.
How do I post a picture on this place?
Your reward for this is as many blasts of Crown Royal as you can handle at the Hill Country Deal this year.
Thank you
Joe Lee

I upload my pics to www.imagehack.us (make a free account)
Then I copy and paste the code labeled "sites"

Posting pictures here isn't too hard, but it takes a couple steps. This site doesn't host pictures, so you'll need to find another site to host it. Flikr and Photobucket host photos for free. Dropbox is another easy way to share photos, although you have to download a some free software. For Photobucket or Flikr simply go to their sites and get an account. Then follow their instructions for uploading a picture. Once you do that, right click on the photo and select 'Copy Photo URL'. Depending on what web browser you are using it may say something slightly different. (If you chose Dropbox it will put a folder on your desktop. Copy and Paste the picture into the public folder into in the dropbox folder. Then right click on the file. You will see an option for Dropbox. Scroll to that and click on 'Copy Public Link')

Once you have either the photo URL or the public link from dropbox, insert it in the middle of this code

Replace everything between the quotation marks with the url. Then post. :)

If you have any problems, let me know and I'll try to help you trouble shoot it.

Nate posted this a while ago, it should help.

I use photobucket, it's easy to work with.

Ok, like Leon said, you need to host it on a site first. I like Dropbox myself, but Flikr and Photobucket are good too. Then, you'll need to put the address in HTML.

<img src="http://www.abc.com/anyPicture.jpg"

Insert the image URL into that code (replacing everything inside the ""'s. Make sure it's the image URL, not the page URL from the address bar. To get the image URL, right click on the picture.

If, after you've hosted it and got the url in the link and everything and it still doesn't work, I can use my magic powers to fix it for you! (And I'll use show you the html I used.)

Leon, you ran into the HTML gremlin. Since this forum supports HTML if you post HTML it tries to execute it. If you ever need to convert HTML into text for a post, just use this site:

HTML to Text Converter

The only problem is, that if you go back to edit something it turns back into HTML and you have to redo it! (I wonder if there is a way to fix that. I'll have to pass that on to the web team.)

I wonder how hard it would be to reconfigure this site so it would accept pictures directly, instead of having to use another site to host pictures?

I used to use PhotoBucket (when I had to), but now it seems they have changed their procedures and have made it more difficult than it already was to get a picture here.
