When I was in Klingenthal, Germany for the Mundharmonika-live festival in 2008, I ended up hanging out with a guy who had designed his own ingenious harp rack. It wasn't hard to feel that that small valley of Germany, where so many harmonica and accordion-building firms had sprung up in the 1800s, had something "in the water," so to speak, that encouraged tinkering.
Anyway, I just got a bulk email and the product that it's flacking is, I believe, that same harp rack. I may be wrong about that, but in any case this item deserves a look:

And yes: it's ridiculously expensive.

Yes, it is expensive--but to me it's been worth it--I've had mine for almost a year and it has helped my rack playing a lot. . . ---------- ==================================== Always be yourself--unless you suck. . . -Joss Whedon
@Grey--Looks like you already found out there is a tilt adjustment--it also comes with a nice case that will hold 6 harps, a set of tools for adjusting, and two longer rods in case you need it adjusted higher. There is even a way to install a microphone on it--If you want to know how, I have a couple of pictures that Michael Timler of Harponline sent me--just email me for them cuz I don't want to post them to photobucket--they're just not mine to publish out on the net.
Of course you can write to Michael and ask him about it--he is very quick to respond and if he doesn't know an answer--he'll go find it--He actually did some experiments just for me to answer my Q's about micing. Mike's email is "mail at harponline dot de". . . ---------- ==================================== Always be yourself--unless you suck. . . -Joss Whedon
oldwailer: I'm very interested in this mic and connecting a strnad mic to it. Also if the harp stays in the rack well with the mic connected. Also have other rack questions. I've worked with Jimi Lee,but have'nt ask the questions of the rack. would you mind If I e-mailed you for more info? My e-mail address is castlehomes69@yahoo.com
wow: I have tried all the web sites and can't seem to get to a place to e-mail for info and price in US Dollars. I don't understand the e-mail address that oldwailer gives above. Any help by mbh members would be appreciated. Thanks K.C.
@KC69 I believe Harponline based in Germany were the stockists for the rack. I have just found this sad message on their website.
"With tears in our eyes we have closed Harponline today. Wistful because of the many fond and sad comments we got in almost every email during the Sales Out that somestime moved us to tears. There was so much relationship and so many feelings included, which only those can share that know about the yearning for music and the soul of the harmonica. All of you I would like to ask to assign the confidence in Harponline you had in the past to the company of Hohner, my new working homeland since almost 3 months now.
"All our thanks to you people out there! You moved our lifes for more than 8 years and you carried us to new challenges. All our thanks to our suppliers too. No items, no harmonicas, mind!"
I cannot find any other stockists on Google search at the moment.
@KC69--You are welcome to email me any questions--if you still want to. Just click my username to get my address. Sometimes, when dealing with other countries, you have to just do the money conversions yourself--just google Crurrency Conversions and you'll find lots of converting calculators that are easy and free.
Not that it matters now, but the email address above was posted that way because I wouldn't want to post anybodies address on a forum without permission--'at' = @ 'dot'= . (a period).
I thought I had heard something about Harponline closing--but I forgot about it. In the ad that Adam posted above when he started this thread, there is a button that says "Request Here." Click that and you can email the Sonnenschein company--they are the ones who make the thing--and they will probably know something about where you can get one. . . ---------- ==================================== Always be yourself--unless you suck. . . -Joss Whedon

Like this!!! This guys incredible. He has a foot pedal operating a rod which presses the button! This is a lovely piece first half on guitar then chrom + Guitar second half from around 1.46. Watch the button go... Look ma, no hands:)
I'm not sure that guy is a human! Blues playing generally doesn't require pushing the button--you just play in third position--as I have been tole--I don't actually play chro. . . ---------- ==================================== Always be yourself--unless you suck. . . -Joss Whedon
