Ok MALs latest videos have convinced me that a looper would be a good practice tool for the music i wan't to make. problem is i'm broke. i vaguely recall you mentioning a software looper for mac a while ago. i tried searching the archives and can't find the thread. any help would be appreciated.

conjob: It's sooperlooper. http://www.essej.net/sooperlooper/
It'll take a bit of reading and fiddling to wrap your head around, but it is very versatile, and you can literally do ANY kind of looping with it.
I hadn't realized MAL had already made some looper videos, I'll have to check them out! Thanks. ---------- --------------------------------------

Mobius looks cool! I've never used it. When I was on Windoze I used to use Ambiloop http://www.ambiloop.com/, which I REALLY liked, but it does not work on Mac, nor on Linux. I started working with Sooperlooper when I switched to Ubuntu, but then I got my hardware looper, and stopped fooling with software for the last little while. I'm actually getting more into software loopers now that I know what I actually want to do with looping. I have an idea on how to make an easy and cheap USB foot controller. It will be based on a USB number pad (which I already have), and will use 15 momentary action stomp switches (which I've sourced for $1.50 each, but have yet to purchase). Basically, with that footswitch, and a little time setting up a custom key map for the keyboard control function of the software (sooperlooper, etc.), your laptop turns into the most amazing multi track looper/FX/DAW you could imagine. ---------- --------------------------------------
