This is off topic. I have just uploaded a couple of my son Dan’s original songs on Youtube (He is playing acoustic guitar and vocals) and I would like to know what you think.
The first song is a promo vid of his old group, Hemingway. The video is not a professional job as it was done by a college student but it’s not bad even if it is a bit gimmicky. Think of any harp fills on this one?
The second song is a snapshot of Hunter S Thompson, the iconic American journalist & writer. I have added some HST slide photos to accompany the song
Being musicians, I would be very interested to hear your views and particularly as you have no personal attachment.
Grey, I really enjoyed both of those vids . I did like the first a bit better though. They are very laidback, groovy tunes,kinda morphine ish without the sax. LoL. Your son has a very pleasing voice and is very talented. I see the apple doesn’t drop far from the tree in his case. ---------- Matt Freshour

Thanks for that guys and yes I am proud of him, I think he has written some good songs. I am hoping he is going to revive his music, although it's tough now cos he has 3 kids, job etc., As far as me jamming with them, well using your Dad isn't cool is it? Besides which I think I psychologically scarred both my kids because they are still haunted by early memories of me getting the harp out on a walk and playing. I can still hear them saying , 'Stop Dad people are coming, it's embarassing' and hiding behind their Mum. Well I was half way through a riff, you can't really stop can you? :)
He is still writing stuff occasionally and asked me the other day if I would like to lay some harp down on a new song he's working on, so obviously time has healed.
