It looks like Adams Email account has been hijacked again. That is, unless he has decided to actually start pushing Viagra and other items of various pleasures. I think not.

Yeah, it seems to have been hijacked. Fuck! (Sorry for that obscenity, mods and adminis. Please don't boot me.)
I'm running a virus scan as we speak and have changed the password on my email account, again. Sorry 'bout that. No, I have NOT suddenly become a Viagra salesman.

That's what I get for multitasking. I wasn't paying attention and I clicked. Now I've got my computer scanning too.
Edit: My log in on the Gawker network got compromised the other day. That compromised my Cheezeburger network log in. I've moved to a password safe and now have passwords that even I don't know. I just cut and paste them from the safe.
It's all randomly generated for me now.

Rubes, that's actually where the internet term comes from. When you open your email and there is Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam and Spam. Of real spam has a long and storied history.

edit: Actually, after some reflection, there is a lot of blues music being used in the peddling of Viagra, including some Howlin' Wolf. Maybe Adam is losing out on some possible revenue streams!

Just because an email says it is from Adam or Bob or Tom or whoever doesn't really mean it did or your account has been hijacked.
Basically someone is spoofing you name/email address and it you look into the email properties you will see it is from some other address.
Your email address was grabbed from somewhere could have been someone in the group got a virus/malware that grabbed you out of their contacts list. IT could have been you didn't click the opt out check box on something you had signed up for online.
We used to get them all the time at my office, basically email from ourselves to ourselves. The boss used to freak out every time that we had been hijacked.
I had to show him every time that no we really hadn't and explained not too much you can do about it. My solution was to crank up the settings on the spam filtering and configure checking against the blackhole/spammer lists, bye bye spoofed emails.
Long story short once "they", the spammers, got ya they got ya and turn up the spam filters.

I would like to bring attention to you guys that CERTAIN websites moderated by unscrupulous characters can insert malicious code that runs a port scan on your computer which can then acquire sensitive data related to banking and passwords.
The past few days I have had an unusual amount of port scan attacks (almost 3 times the usual amount) and I strongly believe it could be certain links that we are baited to click on here...
Just something to think about.

Actually, I have a thought on why this may be happening. I have your addy saved in my email, so I hadn't looked at it in a while, but your contact page has your email listed as is. A lot crawlers look for addys like that. There are a couple ways around listing it that still let people contact you. Some people put a link open up a mail client instead. You can list it like 'A B C at someyahoo dot com' to make it harder for a bot to find. You can make it an image file pretty easily too.
