G'day, i'm wondering if anyone here has experience with either of these amps. They are both combo amps with single 12" speaker. cheers, davo

are you thinking of useing them for harp?
as a general thing, most people don't use either of those models for harp. in fact i can't think of anyone who even uses those makes for harp.
who knows? you might like them.
seems most are watching the freak show. it's rather bizzare and idiotic.---------- MP hibachi cook for the yakuza doctor of semiotics superhero emeritus

I am unfamiliar with either of these combos but would assume that after looking at the tube configs.(pre-amp tubes ax 7,s) that they would be rather gainy. As stated for yrs on various harp sites pertaining to amps voiced for guitars that the only way to tone them down in a simplified way would to try to tame them(more harp friendly)would be swapping out the V 1 pre-amp tube or tubes with ay 7,s or possibly au 7,s.For the cost of the K-36 $900. US I would consider a somewhat more Harp friendly amp.The peavey seems to be a little more reasonable in cost, but as I said I would think(just guessing) that off the shelf that they would be very feedback prone.A problem if buying them from a music store would be if they would let you experiment with tube swapping prior to buying. You may want to ask for some advise on the Weber Speaker Harp or Amp forums, there are some gear heads on there who would probrably have positive advise for you.If you do happen to purchase and try either of the two keep us posted on what the outcome was.Good Luck and Happy Holidays

Thanks for comments. the amps are considerable more exxy in AUS...the Kustom advertised (gimmick) as 50% off at $1195AUD...and the Prowler 2ndhand at $780...i played through the K36 and was quite impressed...but thats relative to my current rig, which is also a 1x12 30w combo (Aston Viper...sold in aus, made in china). the viper runs 2 EL34s...i swapped the 12ax7 for a 5751 and left the 12at7 in place. it did improve things marginally, but i suspect the speaker is not optimal...these were 'bargain" priced amps. the K36 sounded very nice comparitively...the peavey not so much different but a fair bit more grunt, if it could be accessed. i expect though it would be better to save money for something known to be well-suited.
