I ask everyone to proceed with caution.

It is my opinion that the simple layout of this forum is one of the attributes that has made this forum successful. The other harmonica forums that I have visited have a more sophisticated layout, but they also seem to have less participation. Bigger is not always better.

My first reaction is that what you percieve to be a problem is a "tempest in a tea-pot". There will always be someone that is going to leave the group for some reason that is important to only them.

This thread's title is "The Evolution of MBH". To me the concern is not the layout, it is the content. I still come here to learn. Over the last several months I have seen the discussion shift away from scales, and positions and theory to "listen to this", and "watch that". Or maybe I've already learned all there is to know?? ;)

Hear hear. I couldn't agree more. With the forum the way it is, everyone sees every thread title. Sometimes you take a look and something you don't expect to interest you, does.

With other forums, I don't even bother looking in some sections. I'm sure I miss lots of cool threads.

I know the moderation options of phpBB and such are so much better, but I think the problems of this forum - the way users interact with each other - has NOTHING - to do with the software.
