I've used the Hohner case to have harps on stage like this:

I've also used a Hetrick case on my bag like this:

Note that the only pic I could find was with the Hohner case again. This option gives me more harps, but I don't like the way it looks, the stability of it, and how the cover tends to fall at times.
How do you do it? My Hetrick case can sit on my HG50 alright, but I have to have it turned 90 degrees to how I want it. I like having a full set of keys accessible, but now I am toying with the Hohner on a stand again and only the keys I plan on using plus back ups.
With NiteRail, I used all 12 keys during a gig. Now, I probably use 7 and don't need the low octave harps handy.

Good question. I like the idea of a narrow tray on my mic stand instead of a separate stand-as you know, sometimes stage space is at a premeium. Somebody with Cadillac in their name(?)had a website that had a few options for this problem-I'm sure someone here will recall. ----------

In other words, the lid doesn't fall all the way back like on the Hohner. Another thing I love about the Hetrick is that it has the plastic dividers.
I might have to take a pic and post it later. ---------- Mike VHT Special 6 Amp for Harp Blog

It is like our posts melded together. Weird! How I use the Hohner case in pic 1 is pretty much like doing the Cadillac thing. ---------- Mike VHT Special 6 Amp for Harp Blog

I meant more along the lines of a tray to attach to a vocal mic stand(I'm a singer)instead of atop an additional stand. I do like those that Cadillac Pete sells. Hmmm, I have an LP percussion tree that has a tray that clamps to the stand...I bet that would work. ----------

I use a Seydel hard case. Holds 12 harps and 8 spares in a more compact case with a smaller footprint than either the Hohner case or the Hetrick case. I just unzip it, open it up, open and fold back the internal flaps and lay it on top of my amp or just about anywhere else for that matter. Very convenient and compact. And it hols A LOT more than you might think at first glance.
Although it's called a hard case, it's actually soft sided, but protects the harps extremely well.

I forgot I even had this(it's at a friend's studio)this could come in handy for what I am talking about. Maybe make something simple to sit atop it, and just unbolt it after a gig.

I think it's weirder...
One of my posts got lost in the ether too! I think it's 3 posts - not 2 that ended up blended together! freaky!
Anyway. Can't comment on the tray, but I did have a bullet mic holder from him - older version than the one he's selling now. Pretty good.

@HarpNinja: That's it. I bought one, and didn't like it at first. Then I started to use it and found it to be EXTREMELY practical and it protects harps very effectively. No bent covers yet.
Besides 12 Buddha Harps and a spare set of 8 Hammonds in the most used keys, I carry a 545 Ultimate, a 20' XLR cord and a pigtail transformer (and sometimes a Fireball V as well) and still have room to spare.
And it's easy to find a place to park it on stage when it's unzipped and open. Very compact and ergonomic. Each harp has its own slot so it's easy to stay organized. Great case!

i used to use two 6 harp leather pouches i wore on a belt like 6 shooters. some shoe repair guys made them for me about 25 years ago. tacky, but extremely efficient.
percussion toy trays that attach to your mic stand work well. not only are you focused on the audience, but your harps are at your fingertips- and, you can sing to boot.

I have used the tray in the past, but when I doubled as a percussionist, so it got crowded with other crap. I could probably get one of those removeable trays like the Fender cases have in them to sit on a tray. The tray is pretty pricey, though. I think buying a case of beer and some sheet metal and finding a local smith with a press brake could produce some nice results. Secure it to a stand with wing nuts-voila. ----------

I prefer harmonica belt for stage + softcase for spares. I have two amps plus pedalboard and hard case will be too big. ---------- Excuse my bad English. Click on my photo or my username for my music.

I did the math and could get by with 7 harps out at one time. Obviously, if I want 12 or so, I have the stuff to do that. See 2nd pic.
However, there is always something that wows the crowd when I have the Hetrick case out and 30 harps in there. People ask about it at almost every show.
Really, I could do a whole gig with my band with just a C, G, D, A, F, Bb, and Db. I have used a Low F and B with them, but wouldn't have to.
I realized this at SPAH, if my harmonicamasterclass soft case could hold 8 harps instead of 7, I could get by 99% of the time. I wouldn't always have the choice of the position I play, but I could do it without stressing out.
C, G, D, A, B, LF, Bb, Ab
I could just set my harps on my amp then. In fact, I might start doing that just to force myself to play differently. ---------- Mike VHT Special 6 Amp for Harp Blog

I've used the Harmonica Masterclass case for almost 10 years now and can't imagine playing/traveling without it. It holds my mic and harp when I'm not playing and keeps my beverage handy too. Unfortunately they are no longer made.

alot of guys I've seen use the tray mounted on top of the mic stand. Kim Wilson uses one... (i don't know who makes them) as does a friend of mine who plays.I feel bad when I see guys knock their case over and everything falls out...because it's balanced on top of the amp or something!! I have the fender case that I set on a sheet music stand, I flip the top so it is horizontal, tighten it down and I'm good to go, plus there is enough room for my drink, I even cut a small groove in it to hold my mic. there has not been a problem with this setup so far.

Hey this is a harmonica forum! Pay attention. No he did not just get and R4. That was skilback, Eric already has two.
I used to use a Plano tackle box which held a lot of harps, but putting it on the floor was a pain. I used to bring around a wooden stool and that was a lot to carry around too.

About 6 years ago I bought a set of Johnson harmonicas, al 12 keys with a case. I have replaced all but three of the Johnson harps, but still use this case today. It's the perfect size and weight and is easily brought up on stage when I jam. Back then I paid a whopping 36 bucks for the whole kit./Desktop/Johnson_Harmonica_12_Key_set_with_Custom_Hard_Case.jpg
