Hi guys i am a bit puzzled about the harp documentary POCKET FULL OF SOUL, i wanted to ask for it on DVD for Xmas but i can't seem to find it for sale anywhere, i can find lots of related products but not the film itself.
Does anyone know if it was ever released onto DVD and if so has anyone got a link to buy it in a format that will play on an english DVD player, CHEERS Geordie.

Pocket Full of Soul has never been released in theatres or on DVD. They are still searching for a distributor. In order to get people excited and possibly distribute the movie, they has brought a 45 minute smaller version of the film to film festivals and harp events around the country. I do believe they have a DVD available which is essentially complete interviews with some great players. I own it, but do not know how to get one.

I notice they are selling "Shits" as well. I wonder what flavour they come in?

I've been wondering the same thing. The movie looks really good. Belfast_harper and Michael are right, the other DVD is for sale on their site and it looks like its all the interviews from the film.

Although i don't understand how they can release a DVD with the interviews but not be able to release the film itself. Surely they could run up some copies of the actual film and sell them on the website???

It is not a matter of can't, it's marketing. They want this movie distributed in Art theatres all around the country. If it becomes clear they cannot do that first, then they'll probably make it available on DVD. That's my guess, anyway.
