I seemed to have killed the 'interesting AG thread' with this and never got a comment. With just a tad of shame (I'm not completely shameless) I repost here. Hey - it's gotten some nice feedback on facebook - but what do they know?
I think you did a nice job with it, bonedog. Even though it was a pretty short clip, I did feel like it dragged a bit in the middle. Good use of fluctuating your dynamics and the harp sounded right on with the effects and all. I also enjoyed that you got up into the upper register a few times.
Dang Amazing grace been ringing in my head all week cant change the channel, feels like im at a funeral, was at wallmart shopping Amazing grace playing in my head AAAAAAAAAAAAHHH its doing it right NOW,Anyways, nice playing Bonedog569 sounded complicated some but way better than what i could do nice job ;-)
@Barry C & ridge - I'm a jammer and deadhead at heart. I like to let the music and rythem 'take me' where it will - though hopefully still connected to the melody and progression. (though my abilliity to imoprovise over jazz chord changes is pathetically poor)
@narcoran - scroll through page 2 or 3 for the original. When I kill a thread it gets burried quick I'm afraid.
Stubs - you are def. not alone. Apologies if I contributed to uninvited head tape loop meltdown. I suggest staying out of Walmart - Nothing about that place can ever truly help the afflicted.
more on 'noodling' I am definitely guilty of self indulgence - the hope is that it moves toward something like trancendence. A diffentiation ultimately in the ear of the beholder. ----------
thanks Ant - I enjoyed your version too. - thanks to Stubss I found it on Utube. http://www.youtube.com/user/fiendant?feature=mhum#p/u/12/fRFC9GcFj2Y ----------
I like the sound and your playing, but where was the tune after the first few bars? I think I'd be hard pushed to identify it as amazing grace if I didn't know that's what is was supposed to be. ---------- "Come on Brackett let's get changed"
