Sorry for being such a dinosaur (and only aged 47 at that!), but I'm getting mighty confused by many abbreviations used on the forum. I only text when there is no easier option, and always spell the words as correctly as my 'poor boy' education allows (example: 'will be home late - having trouble on new contra flow section' or if I'm especially brave and want to risk the wrath of she-who-must-be-obeyed: 'will be home late, could not find Eb harp and am driving 40 miles in wrong direction to buy one'!).
It does not help that I have always been useless at crosswords and similar puzzles (some may say I'm as thick as two sort planks).
Anyway, if any of you guys could provide a 'must know' or 'commonly used' list of useful abbreviations (with explanation of course!), I would be very grateful.

OOTB- Out of the Box
NOS- New Old Stock (Basically some harpers like older harmonicas and if they can find old ones that haven't been abused it's a plus).
I've got about 4 minutes before I have to be out the door, but somewhere I have a giant list of words you should know related to harmonica. They don't all have definitions written up. I'll try to find the list later.

That's some lazy typing... Well, harp players are notoriously lazy. Otherwise they would have taken a serious instrument :~}

iirc, ne n00b like me can sumb normally and rofl with everyone else. This is like the first attempt at bending a note; not quite right but there's something there!
btw Moose - are you sure about 'wwlwd'? On this forum I assumed it would be wwgd (what would gussow do) - ok everyone, steady down there, just my little joke.

True...I think I've referred to both as GH at one time or another, but within the context, there was no doubt...How about Greg can be BMGH, for Blows Me(Away Productions)Greg Heumann. Wait-he might not like that. Agreed. GH-German Harpist Greg-Greg Heumann. ----------

I'm at work so all I can think of is:
SNAFU - situation normal, all f*%cked up and BUMF - bum fodder, what the British troops in WWI used their field order papers for.
