Just a quick note to praise these guys. If you want to by online there can be no better place. After much time being messed around at Bushman i phoned today. What i wanted in stock, a friendly voice on the phone, no bull shit and all around a great shopping experience.

I recommend to all.

Ron is cool! He won my business. My experience with him was completely opposite of John Hall at Bushman.

Ron has stuff in stock. He charges the card when preparing the order. Most importantly, he ships the goods when he says he is going to ship them.

Yes, indeed. Dealing with Ron Hobdy is a pleasure-friendly, straightforward and prompt. My recent order was put in on a Monday afternoon, and my new harps were waiting for me when I got home on Wednesday-in plenty of time for my Friday gig.

I am not even bothered to see a Rockin Ron thread every month. He's simply the perfect example of how business is run. More people should be aware of him.

For sure. After screwing with harp purchases on FleaBay, and getting "new" harps in open boxes, bad reeds and horrible service etc.

When I saw a few Rockin Ron Kudos posts here so I decided to place an order with RR. Quick, friendly service, and Ron even went out of his way to help. Wished I would have found RR sooner. I've placed another order since then and will continue to do so in the future.

Rockin Ron's R-O-C-K-S!! (And blues) ;-)

Rockin Ron is the best harp company I have ever ordered from. Fast service, he has the merchandise and will bend over backwards to help you. How he gets the harps to you so fast is a mystery to me, Great place to order harps!!!

@TahoeMike - The only way you could have found him sooner was if you were playing another instrument.

When I placed my order with him, I ended up talking to him for about 30 minutes. He's been in business for a while, but only started selling harps about a year ago. He seems like a really nice guy. He said his harp business was exploding because of posts like this on Internet forums.

When I placed my order, he said he would ship the same day. I placed my order at 4pm, so I was doubtful. Two days later, the stuff showed up. He must have stopped at the Post Office after we spoke.

To my surprise, he called me to make sure my order arrived and I was happy. I hadn't received service like that since I owned a Cadillac!

Maybe he should be invited to be a member here. He could probably keep us updated with new products/inventory. I am sure if he knows as much about harps as he does about running a business he would be welcomed here with open arms. I was SHOCKED when he called me because he just wanted to make sure I got his email and wanted to let me know he was sending my order right out. I don't know if he is a one man show there but he makes you feel like he is your personal harmonica guy. I was a little nervous the first time I ordered because his website doesn't have all the flash and fancy page of some other companies but he proved me wrong. Its right to the point, no crap, place and order and get it quick. He also gave me a couple bucks off just for asking!

When my wife ordered two Manji's last November for my Christmas gift, they didn't arrive until January. We actually canceled one of them, and got it within two days from Rockin Ron's. Great Service!

MAJOR RETRACTION!!! MAJOR RETRACTION!!!
I have a huge apology to Ron!!! It wasnt' Ron that my wife ordered from, it was Ron that came through when another supplier didn't. Ron gave me a call wondering where he went wrong, and he didn't. He's a great guy, and my temporary alzheimers may have caused him damage here. I apologize, and give my highest praises to Ron's service.

NOTE: I edited my first post to reflect the truth, not my faulty memory.

I have to add my praise for Rockin' Rons service.
I placed an order (Manji harp and Shaker mic) and recieved a call from him not ten minutes later.
Told me he didn't have the Shaker mic with the 1/4 connector in stock but he would ship me the xlr version at no extra cost just to speed up the order.
What service!

I'm ashamed to say, I've never been able to do business with Mr SuperHarpDealer. I sent him emails 1 years ago and I'm still waiting for replies.
I must be a creep full of Kryptonite.

And, BTW, Musicians Webstore has a great service and better prices on Suzuki.

I ordered Rupert Oysler's harmonica repair DVD from Ron Saturday afternoon and got it on Monday!

Meanwhile, I still haven't got a Bushman harp from John Hall that I ordered
2 months ago...but that's another thread.

Rockin Ron is a great guy, best prices, and free shipping. I won't go anywhere else from here on out.

Bushman charged my bank account two weeks ago for a couple of instruments. I don't have them yet. One was in "C". It should have been in my hands when I left Georgia. Three other harps I ordered at the same time were. Thank you, John Hall. I'm a rank beginner without a beginner's harp----because of YOU.

I ordered a Seydel and Suzuki "lower end harp" from Ron this afternoon on his website and within an hour Ron was calling me to make sure I really wanted what I had ordered. We talked a bit about this order and plans for future purchases depending on what I like from what he will send out IN THE MORNING. (HELLO, JOHN HALL)

I've learned quite a bit from this forum----the best advice I've gotten yet is to order from Rockin' Ron.

I ordered a Seydel Chromatic Deluxe and some other things late on Tues Dec 7th, and had it in hand on Saturday morning. It probably would have been earlier if everything had been in stock in California. (Rupert Oysler shipped the order to keep things simple.) Ron was very responsive to questions (minutes not hours/days), and I will definitely be ordering from him again in the future.

MP - I haven't put much time into it yet, and it's my first chromatic so I have nothing to compare it against. I'm not crazy about the mouthpiece and may look into how much a Seydel Saxony mouthpiece would cost. But I want to give it some hours over the holidays before judging it. I'm going to go over some of David Barrett's blues chromatic materials.

For under $140 it seems nice. But you probably want the opinion of someone more experienced.

not really. i just really like the ones i've tried.
i don't get why people don't like the mouthpiece.
jim mentioned upgrading with a SAXONY mouthpiece too.

MP - I got the idea from Jim. I'm tongue-blocking and probably need to concentrate on a lighter touch.

It looks like the Saxony mouthpiece is a bit pricey because you need to purchase the whole slide assembly to get it. At least that's what it seems to imply on the Seydel site. Maybe someone who does repairs would have them available.

Just to chime in with everybody else. I've never ordered from Ron before but needed a Lee Oscar in Dm (natural) to play "Mary Did You Know?" for Christmas. I ordered last Tuesday afternoon and got my harp Thursday morning!

Now if he'll add the Meisterklasse to his site...
