If you were at a party, and somebody asked for a tune, when you whipped out your harp , what would you play?
Sonny Terry style? Deford/?????
When people say "play somethig" I usually end up trying to play some "chord melody" I guess thats the term maybe called country blues??

Learn a 12-bar blues with a recognizable melody. "St. Louis Blues" is a good one.

"When the Saints Go Marching In," which isn't a blues, is a good tune, too.

Most recently I've done 12 bars of a slow, improvised Blues. I've also done "Tainted Love", Everybody Wants You (Blues style), and my own "Loofa Time", and "Chicken Stomp", and whatever the current incarnation of "Shanester Shuffle" depending on my mood.

I learnt to play this quite a while back and I still enjoy playing it today. This is the first two parts of a 3 part solo each played in a different key as played by Area Code 615. Here is my Tab for the first part in Harp Key A

STONE FOX CHASE-Area Code 615-Tab by Grey Owl

-2=Draw hole 2;+4=blow hole 4;-2*=small draw bend on hole 2
B=quick blow breath, not really sounding a note.

On Key A harp
-2*-2-2, B, -2 B -3*-2-2*, -2*-2-2, B, -4-4*+4-3-2
-2*-2-2, B, -2 B -3*-2-2*, -3*-2-2* -3*-2-2* -3*-2-2*, -2

-2*-2-2, B, -2 B -3*-2-2*, -2*-2-2, B, -4-4*+4-3-2
-2*-2-2, B, -2 B -3*-2-2*, -3*-2-2* -3*-2-2* -3*-2-2*, -2

-4, -4-4*+4-3-2, -4, -4*+4,+3-3*-2
-4, -4-4*+4-3-2, -4, -4*,+4+3-3*-2
-2*-2-2, B, -2 B -3*-2-2*, -2*-2-2, B, -4-4*+4-3-2
-2*-2-2, B, -2 B -3*-2-2*, -3*-2-2* -3*-2-2* -3*-2-2*, -2

Edit: I have spotted an error on the tab in the second part in Harp Key C which I will re-write and post

probably something like Whammer Jammer, or Steady...or even a slow blues like Cottons version. Or you gotta move melody. It's always easy and impressive to getany soundout of a harmonica. Especiually for folks who aren't familiar with the harp.
I get ooohs and ahhhs all the time in the elevator at work...
