TNFrank has decided to screw us, apparently. He has not only deleted his posts from the latest thread, "Looking for Special 20's," but he is deleting his posts from selected threads further back.

For example, he has deleted all his posts to the "I've just got to ask" thread on page 6 in my browser and all the posts to the "Sealing wooden combs," thread on page 9.

This renders those threads unreadable. Is there any way to revert his deletions and stop further actions?

Oh, and no thanks to NOD and eharp for gratuitiously leaning on him.

There's no way to stop this, and I see no reason to. Every member here has the right to modify and/or delete their posts as they see fit--and whenever and as often as they see fit. If those actions make the threads unreadable, so be it. Let it go.

Not vandalism at all. I'm simply freeing up bandwidth so that people who are more "worthy" to post to this forum will have more space to do so. It seems like unless you've been playing for years your opinion is just not valued here so I deleted my opinions along with many other comments that I've made over the past couple months. I figure that would make a hand full of people here happy not having to deal with or read my posts since I'm just a "newbie" and really have nothing valuable to add to the forum.
So, as my Uncle Paul used to say, now ya' know the rest of the story.

As far as I am concerned it wouldn't constitute vandalism if a whole bunch of other posts by various users were deleted, too. Ya gotta kiss a whole lotta frogs around here to find a prince every now and then.

Frank, I just lurk here. I usually try to have no opinion, but here it goes. Please, don't worry about these other people. You make the forum interesting and drive conversation. It is just an internet forum, after all, and is not to be taken too serious.

I enjoy reading your posts.

Frank, you asked for people's opinions and then get upset and have a hissy fit when they give them to you. What is it you want?

It seems that many of those threads were unreadable before any deletions.

That's just it Tin Lizzie. I wasn't asking for any opinions in my Special 20 thread, just looking for someone to trade with then someone jumped in without clearly reading what I had posted and started offering opinions and saying that I should have listened to people here that tried to help me and that NO ONE was going to GIVE me harps, yadda, yadda, yadda. NO opinions were ask for but it seems like I get opinions weather I ask for them or not and they're all suppose to be "gold" but any opinion I offer is "crap". I'm just getting kind of tired of it. If you can't see where I'm coming from that's fine.

Frank, the ongoing interruptions of threads with the same ''nobody gets what i'm saying, i'm not posting anymore, here i am again saying i have been misunderstood, evryone who overs an opinion you dont like is talking crap'' etc is getting weary.

I say this with any due respect just let it go. say what you want to say, post what you want to post but please try to let thing flow a little more easily.

Hell, let me know your address and i'll get on the web and order the harp you want and have it mailed to you if it will allow this whole thing to just stop.

Failing that go get a punch bag and before your blood pressure rises each time you read forum posts go smack it around a little and then see if things are so bad before you post a reply.

Please.

Well, Frank, I've been reading this forum and posting on it a lot longer than you have, though not nearly as often as you.

Posting anything here is inviting an opinion. Threads meander and don't stick to the topic. Most of the time it's more like a conversation that changes focus all the time than like something that stick to the thread topic. That's just how it is.

You seem to have a need to get upset a lot. Many people, including me, get upset from time to time. But I think you get upset more often than anyone. And I can't understand what sets you off most of the time.

Take it for what it is... a forum that sometimes has cool stuff. Even when I don't agree with what is being said, it makes me think about what I do believe.

"And I can't understand what sets you off most of the time."

Well, for the most part when I post a thread looking to trade harps with someone and get a reply to that threat like this:

"Well Bugger me sideways i say :/

Every one tells you not to spend all your money on Cheap Harps, You Spend $300 + Bucks on Junk :/

And Now you want People to give you Harps :/

Get a Job!!!!

it's evident your Harps will sit around collecting Dust Not Mine:/

You could Have Bought a 7 harp Kit of SP-20s with
Turbo Lids if you listened and didn't wast your Money on Junk:/

No Excuses Mate just Telling it like i see it:/
----------
Get Real.."

That tends to kind of piss me off just a bit. Wouldn't it you? Nothing in the above reply addresses anything in the thread that I posted. It's simply a knee jerk reaction to it being MY post by someone who seems to get intense pleasure out of digging at me every chance that they can and I'm getting tired of it.

I NEVER delete a post when the deletion results in someone's response to my comment appear to be nonsensical or out of context. To me, that just seems to be a bit silly. I would, however, edit a post to indicate to readers that the responder had been responding to something. That just seems like good manners. Still, this is webland. The Jerry Springer Show has nothing on it.

He may not say it the nicest way, but what he says is true. You DID ignore the advice. When you figured out the harps were crappy, you never said,
"you were right, I should have gotten better harps".

People actually put a fair amount of time and effort into sharing what they had learned about the harmonica with you. You don't seem to appreciate that effort. Nor do you don't seem to understand that there is wisdom in that experience.

If you really want to just trade harps, then I think that kind of thing belongs in the for sale thread.

If I were unemployed and someone gratuitously told me to "Get a job!" I would be rather upset as well. NOD is not playing nice.

On the other hand, deleting posts harms everyone, not just the people who have hurt you.

*Looks outside* Nope, not a full moon.

It is the end of the month, though. The check is in the bank, it's the weekend and some people's blood alcohol level is a bit too high.

I don't think this is Histrionic Personality Disorder, but of course, that's me basing it off of the little evidence I have.

I NEVER said my Big River harps were Crappy, they're actually pretty good harps but Turbo doesn't make Lids for em' so there ya' go, that's why I was looking to trade, no other reason.
I didn't ignore advice to get good harps, I do have a HarpMaster that I bought because of advice here and I bought the Big River harps because of advice I got here. I bought the Hot Metals before I was on this forum and even so I did get a decent case out of that deal and my grandson got something to play with.
Ok, so maybe I should have posted my "For Trade" add in the For Sale section but I'd have probably gotten flack anyway, same as happened when I posted my FolkMasters for sale or trade in that section and I really didn't want to go thru that again if I could help it.
There are threads that I simply don't post to because they're none of my business and unless someone had some Special 20's that they were interested in trading for my Big Rivers then there was no reason for them to post to my thread, it's just plain bad manners and being rude.
As far as crappy harps go the only one that I can really point to is the Old Standby that blew out the 5 draw in less then a week. All the others played as advertised even if they weren't top of the line, even the Blues Band. Only issue with the FolkMasters was the covers. So I don't know where you're coming off saying that I was complaining about having crappy harps and how I should have listened to ya'll. I think for the most part I have.
There just seems to be a hand full of people here that are ready to jump on any little think I say or do in a negative way instead of just letting it go.
It makes me almost afraid to post anything because I'll just end up wading thru all that negative stuff in order to gleen out the few positive things that are posted.
As far as deleting my posts, I simply didn't feel like sharing those posts with the few negative people that are on the forum. They were my posts, I deleted them, it's that simple.

Somebody with the best interests of this forum in mind has asked me to take a look at this particular thread. I can find no flagrant violation of the forum creed here. All I find is a bunch of people who clearly don't like each other and are wasting each other's time, and their own, with trivial bickering.

Is this really the best that y'all can do? I'm sure it's not. Please try harder. I'm locking this thread.
