Good for him, I say. It may be a bit ragged, but this sort of thing is really useful when you're first starting out. It gives you a couple of licks and makes you feel you're doing something vaguely bluesy, which for a beginner is encouraging. I don't think there's a danger of picking up bad habits from this either; I reckon anyone who sticks with it long enough will gravitate towards the pro lessons in time anyway - Gussow/Barrett/Levy, etc.

amazing! I like it alot..he's so helpful...on a kid level. But old codgers like me can really dig it, too.
There's a type of Brit mannerism, that give it a refreshing "cool", eh?
watch out Jason!..

Kids actually pretty good. At least I thought so. Interesting how simple that song is but it sounds really great up to speed. I guess hanging around here I've actually learned something because I guessed right on the 4-5 warble,LOL. Nice lesson, thanks Adam.

He sounds good to me, and presents the tune easily for a beginner. Probably should have spent a little more time with the 3-4 bend/blue third.

I thought he did a pretty good job with it....there was nothing factually incorrect about the lesson right? He could play the riffs himself..and most importantly I could see a raw beginner thinking "cool, I could do that" and picking up a harp to try and jam with the record. They may be a little suprised that the bending (for many beginners) isn't as effortless as he makes it look, but I agree with Mojokane that the "Brit Mannerism" works wonders here, kind of a "see it's easy" feel to it.

all in all a nice little lesson, I'd say jodanchudan's comment above hits the nail on the head to me.

one of the best ways to learn is to teach.

When I was in Med School "See it. Do it. Teach it" was the motto that was pounded into our heads.

I think the kid did an excellent job.

Honkin, rflmao. Yogi is a wise man who shares his wisdom only to open minds that are not closed.

My two favorite Yogi-isms are these-

Yogi walked into a pizza parlor and asked for a pizza. The owner asked him if he'd like him to cut it into 4 or 6 pieces. Yogi answered, 'Better make it four, I don't think I could eat six pieces.'

The Yankees had just gotten new summer uniforms, which was good, because it was starting to get pretty warm out. Yogi was standing by the bleachers and a young lady, noticing the new summer garb, commented, 'My, don't you look cool!' To which Yogi replied, 'Thank you mam, you don't look so hot yourself.'

edit: I don't know if you'd know about Yogi down under NOD. He was a famous catcher for the New York Yankees. He was famous for his quotes (and he was a hell of a ballplayer.) He had a falling out with the George Steinbrenner, the now late owner of the Yankees, and for years he wouldn't set foot in Yankee Stadium. He's probably one of the most beloved men in all of New York, even if he could hold a grudge!

Chris is right, I have gained a better understanding of things when I had to tell others, it made me really think. Not even just harmonica, or any instrument, just in general.

Yeah Zack, I've always found that's true. I think there is even a name for it in educational theory, although darned if I know what it is.

Yogi is the only baseball player ever to be on 10 World Series champions. 10! My favorite Yogi-ism is, "Those sports writers quoted exactly what I didn't say."
