Tomorrow afternoon, somewhere around 2-4 p.m. Central, I'll be on local radio station WWOZ, New Orleans FM 90.7(or streaming at wwoz.org)with a few members of my r&b band, Eudora and Deep Soul. Hopefully, we will play a few tunes live. I think there are a couple other acts slated to be there to plug their VooDoo Fest appearances. Tune in if you can.
You have GOT to hear this lady sing! Eudora Evans is her name. We have a few vids up on ewetube. She also was Miss Arkansas 2005(go ahead, google Eudora Mosby), and in the top 10 finalists for Miss America 2006. She doesn't play it up, though-as sweet and humble as she can be. but, when she sings that first note-WOW! I hear it may be a crowded show today, as there are a couple of other artists in town promoting their shows at VooDoo Fest. But, if you've got time to wait it out, I'll try to make it worth your while! ----------
Thanks, Johnnie. They're also good about giving performers a cd of the broadcast afterwards, so if it's any good today, I'll put excerpts up on box.net or somewhere once I get a cd. ----------
Hi Todd ... I'll miss today as well but will VLC it for listening to later ... did so for your previous WWOZ appearance as well ... can email you any cuts if you like ...
haha, had no time for that...It was fun. We played two tunes, and were accompanied by piano great David Torkanowsky...We did You Can Have My Husband by Irma Thomas, and Hound Dog, and plugged our shows. 'Twas a blast! Oh, and the D Manji I just got wasn't yet up to the task-gotta do some gapping on it. I broke out one of my trusty customized MBs. ----------
So they let you do 2 songs. Both were awesome, it was fun hearing someone that I "know" on the radio. Who's bright idea was it to do "Hound Dog" in Eb,LOL. Glad you had your Ab harp so you could play along. Eb, go figure,LOL. Anyway, thought it was nice getting to hear ya'll. Congrats, you big radio star. ;)
The keys are up to the singer, usually. On that one and a few others we do, we ended up in unusual keys. Sometimes we'll keep a key that was used on a recording of the original, for whatever reason. I don't mind, because it spreads the wear and tear out amongst my harps. This is another good example of why I keep a full keyset, at least. Thanks for listening, and for the compliments! ----------

Great band, you guys were COOKIN'. Nice playin too. I liked the first tune better....her vocals seemed drowned out in Hound Dog...not sure if her mike was turned down..you guys were playing louder..or what.
But that's a super minor criticism....you guys (and gal) were tearin' it up!!!!!
Thanks, bobo-so, you heard the stream, and not just the radio? The dj was messing with levels the whole time-i haven't heard the stream. We had no monitors or headphones-it was difficult to hear myself. ----------
You mean tonight, Harvey??? I'm packing my gear up now, drinking a cup of coffee, and checking in with the madness...
Thanks snakes and Harv for the kind words...now, off to make some noise(and probably dine on an alligator sausage poboy and fried pickles, om nom nom!)for the first gig of two for the weekend. ----------
