i tell you whut i allways have to trick my own treat when i post on here.i must really suck cause they say if dont have anything good to say say nothing.and nobody ever says anything ever.just because theres more than 1 instrument i suck at alternate at the critism;-)I know i need to get better at all of them.
I liked it. Reminds me of the same style that a buddy of mine over at HC has. I though you did a good job, sometimes with "off the wall" stuff like this it's just hard to get anyone to post an opinion. One thing though, I'd have brought the vocals up a bit in the mix. I notice that a lot of guys do that so you're not the only one. ;)
thanks TNFrank Sarge from another forum said the same thing,its hard sometimes cause i dont have speakers to hear from just my headphones and sometimes it throws me off,on the final mix,but your right about the vocals needing uped a little bit.
HS Ashlock, maybe wait 24 hours for responses I can't check out your songs from the office.
I dug the percussion and even your CBG quite a bit. I thought your harmonica was well but perhaps you hung on the high end a little too much? Only other thing I can think to comment on might be the way your vocals mix with the rest of the music, I don't really know how you're doing it or how you can improve it but perhaps if you mess with some levels of everything else vs your vocals. Overall I think everything you're doing is coming along nicely.
Edit: Just realized TNFrank had the same comment, "I'd have brought the vocals up a bit in the mix". Or maybe just bring everything else down a tad.

yea i know i should probelly wait longer,just topics go from the top when posted to the bottom in a couple hours if nobody responds then they get lost on the other pages;-)yea im kind at a lose of what to do playing the harp,ive studied my butt off 4 types of online lessons for over a year and a half,Harmonica academy,Dave Gage,some of Adams stuff,and now David Barretts,and im lost.the harp was really just me trying to get it in there some how,but im running out of ideas.thanks for giving some things to think about

I think your harmonica playing is much better now then when you first starting posting your songs here! Seriously. You're realizing some things I'm realizing which is all the effort pays off... eventually. I've also been working with multiple methods of learning & even started checking out David Barrett's site yesterday. Some of the things I struggle with include relaxing & feeling the music I'm playing along with. Oh that and my fear of playing something no one will like which prevents me from posting videos online or going to jams, lol.

TNFrank Off the wall stuff;-) thats my curse it really is.i know alot of musicians around here,but i dont jam with any except maybe a drummer once in a while,because of my off the wall stuff.And believe me i dont try to write weird,i would love to be able to play something standard or more common tighter all that,but all my stuff is off the wall,well most of it.I guess its from my youth of eating alot of acid,and listening to Led Zep,pink floyd,Doors,and NiN,while tripping ;-)oh yea dont forget Zappa and gratful dead yea acid and acid rock screwed me up;-)
thanks guys i really appreaciate the kind words,I really dont know where or what im doing,for 15 years i hated my guitar playing and the songs i wrote,i never really jammed with anyone except, a short time on harp,and a drummer, now and then. The last 2 years ive had a 8 track and slowly i started digging some of my stuff.Ive allways been a hard critic to myself,so now im like ok i need to improve on everything but some of my stuff i think i like:-)Ive known alot of musicians that are legends in there own mind,and ive allways been the oposite,now i kind of dig some of it,but i must improve on everything really but exspecially the harp,But because my stuff is off the wall i dont get hardly any feedback from anyone even my best friend or brother,or forums im doing allright on the reverb charts but im not sure what or if that means anything,but i use to not care but now im am striving to play better,and to enjoy what i play and to find some peope who also enjoy it.I dont know if thats wrong or not.sorry to ramble;-) anyways thanks

yea Ryan a year ago i would jump on stage at a open jam.and feel like all right lets jam,(there's are no other harp players at the jams)Now im like wow theres so much i dont know im nervous even though i should be feeling more comfortable,I got a jam Sat 1st time ive played with anyone on anything in over a year and a half im all nervous,
When I first heard your song I was thinking of it as the music to the beginning of a scary movie like "Wrong Turn" or some of those other slasher movies that I don't watch. I made the mistake of picking up Rob Zombie's "House of 1000 Corpes", watched it one time and that was enough for me. Scared the bejebers out of me.
thats like me i love halloween my birthday is nov 2 so that helps but,i have allways loved it, I hate slasher movies,phyco movies,all them weird crazy movies i will not watch.If i would watch a horror movie it would be a frankemstein or dracula or mummy orginal from back in the day thats the only horror ill watch;-)

Yep, sounds like we'd get along good for movies. There's a new one coming out Nov.12th called "Skyline" that looks pretty good. But I never got into "Halloween" or "Nightmare on Elm Street" or "Hostile" or anything were people are getting tortured or hurt like that. A war movie like "Platoon" or "Hamburger Hill" is one thing but seeing someone tied up and cut on and hurt just makes me mad and makes me want to try and stop it from happening. Same thing with animals, I don't like it when people hurt animals and are mean to em'.
I'm going to write a movie where the 'monster' is an internet stalker. If he posts the same post three times in a row it means he's coming to get you!!!

I watched house of a 1000 corpse with my best friend the week befor he passed away,we knew he was dying but that was his favorite movie,so i watched it with him,life is weird and the choices we make in what we enjoy,to each there own,I didnt like the movie but ill allways remember watching it with him

thanks Ant I love Cigar box guitar's I wish i had knew about them years ago,there so raw sounding,but bluesy,you can hit some power chords that would just iratate me on eletric guitar but sounds cool on a CBG,Lets me kind of rock out like i was a kid but still sound kind of bluesy for my more adult taste in music,it really has filled a gap for me,add some harp and dang i like the sound posssibilities
thats cool build Frank Ive seen a gas can one one the internet a well known bluesman for CBG,s was playing,I have heard about people building resonator guitar's out of hub caps but im not sure how its done yet,but i wouldnt mind trying that
