@earlounge: i've played at Great Notch. cool place, if a little intimidating. the only cars in the parking lot belonged to the band, *all* the other vehicles were bikes. everybody but the band wearing leathers, most wearing colors. some pretty women, but you don't want to get caught looking at them. it's a tiny place, most everybody hangs out on the porch in the lot, coming inside only for drinks and restrooms. nobody seemed to care much about the band, or the harp playing, either way.

Lester Butler and the Red Devils were the essence and definition of Biker Bar blues for me. Very energetic and muscular music, rough and ready bloozerawk with plenty of attitude. King-King is a classic...

another vote for Moreland and Arbuckle as a classic biker bar type band.. they rock it hard and raw.

Hey, I don't do overblows. I am a lip blocker. Don't care about LW, BW, JC. My favorite jam is at a Biker Bar. Mostly kick ass rock. That is why I use big amps. I may well be a biker bar harper. To bad I have a Yamaha.LOL...BN

Barley, actually, sometimes a smaller amp will give you a more badass tone. You can re-mic it through a big amp if you need to. :)

That take falls apart after that, so I won't post the whole thing, pretty much because after that I have to sing, but that's pretty much exactly where I wanted my tone on harp, and that was on a little Park amp. Of course that's just my preference, but I was at least shooting for 'badass'. I like to think I wouldn't get chased out of a biker bar if I started a song out like that (although I would have liked some drums- we didn't have any for that take).
