You folks have probably been over this ground already but, do you know what kind of harps Son of Dave uses? They generally seem to be bigger, or at least sound bigger than my little Marine Bands.
Murray (who posts here as Elwood) got to interview him - his gear (mics and harps) were also discussed here: http://www.harpsurgery.com/son-of-dave-interview/.

On one of his making of "Shake A Bone" videos he holds up a list of the songs that he's culling for the album, and the harp keys are on the list. Lots of low keys.
Dave probably used the Big Marine Bands like the 12-hole low pitched harps 364's before the Seydel low pitched harps became available.
I have one of the Low C 364's and its a great harp, after I sealed the wood comb, and also have some SBS-365's... but the low Seydels are sized better for the "regular" diatonic harp players.
Son of Dave is nuttier than a squirrel turd... probably why I like him so much, and actually bought a Digitech Jamman looper pedal just to have some fun with... and it is fun... wish I had more time to phoo with it !
Saw him live in manchester last year he is so awesome live. He use's seydel 1847 silvers and in keys of Low B, Low Bb, Low C, Low Db, Low D, Low Eb, Low F, Low F#, I have a list of the song keys for shake a bone if anyone is interested.
Nowadays he's a Seydel endorser. He started playing with Lee Oskars, but I've seen him playing Hohner and even Suzuki (quite shure) too. But for his low harmonicas, he always uses Seydel anyway I think.
