My son showed me sumthin'. I'm so awestruck I'm shaking! Literally!!
Look, man, this guy wasn't human. Lt. Commander Data couldn't do this, but Bruce could.
Somebody mentioned Jeet Kune Do in another thread, so I figgered they'd appreciate this 'cause Bruce Lee developed Jeet Kune Do. Plus it's just awesome!! I was "speaking French" during the whole video.

I read the "It's fake" comment and it kinda makes sense, but I couldn't figure out how it would be faked. It certainly couldn't have been faked in those days. Insert Bruce Lee? The movements and game are too well matched for that.
I went lookin' 'round the internet. This video is from a Nokia ad. I found this video at another site other than You Tube. One commenter suggested he was inserted. Another commenter said:
"I saw this video in 1978 when I was 12 way before CGI was available and Star Wars was done using matt paintings. This footage is real. The guy who says this is a digitally inserted Bruce Lee is just guessing and he guessed wrong."
Of course he could be lying. I did do some freez-framing when his face came into view. I don't think it's him :(
Here's another comment:
"I agree fake but I think you're making it even more complicated than it probably was. I imagine it was just a lone actor with a ping pong paddle performing a bunch of serves and volleys against thin air with no ball.
Next they added in the Bruce Lee footage and then a CGI ball.
Now they don't even need to edit the Lee shots to make them sync up with a ball, or remove a player."
I'm beginning to feel stupid. :(
Another edit: I don't agree with the "lone actor" idea. I think it would be two actors "playing" without a ball, then the ball inserted later.....But stil, that would be some great editing to put the ball in like that. The ball looks real, but the feat looks impossible.
For me the jury's still out.
