Reports are from Tall Paul Sabin and Scott Dirks.

@Ev630...I don't see the difference between Wilson's setup and other players using preamps, compressors, optimizers or whatever else. And FWIW, and I saw the smiley face, there are a lot of non-digital pedals out there as well.
I also think Kim wanting three different amp voices, etc. also illustrates, to at least a degree, that gear does matter.
If he sound the same through everything, why not use just one amp or three of the same amp? ---------- Mike VHT Special 6 Amp for Harp Blog

Kim's roadie Steve had been with him for quite a long time-10 years I know of-maybe more. The most likely reason for the splitting/combination of amps was for the soundtrack for the dvd-Kim wanted the optimal sound reproduction-that combo worked for him. I was there for all 4 days-Kim used that setup all the time,as far as I could tell.

That's an unusual setup for Kim because he generally only uses one amp and doesn't fuss much with anything and nearly always plays without any effects at all. Over the years I've seen him on the bandstand with 2 4-10 Bassmans in series, Mesa Boogie amps, and tons more and no matter what, he still sounds like himself. ---------- Sincerely, Barbeque Bob Maglinte Boston, MA http://www.barbequebob.com CD available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/bbmaglinte

Now, that's what I'm talkin' 'bout, Tin Lizzy--utter appreciation for what Amanda Wilson worked her butt off to present to the harp community. Yeah--there were some World Class Blues musician at that show.
