----------And I have a show tomorrow with a kind of rhythm and blues super band, recording monday, rehearsal monday, and show tuesday- I already hit the Valtrex and no I can't nor am I willing to cancel at this point. I've done a lot of complicated wound dressings for patients in the past but cannot conceive of a spot dressing that would hold on the lateral crack dividing my lips. As absurd as this sounds I'm going to look in the pop-up (temp stores in NYC) for some Halloween lips that are shearer than clown lips. Of course it's not going to work but sheesh......... myspace facebook

I quit using over the counter medicines. They made the sore feel better but they wouldn't go away. And you might try a multi vitamin. ---------- The Art Teacher Formally Known As scstrickland

Although not a solution per se. Utilizing an oral anesthetic such as oragel marketed for tooth/gum/lip problems has mitigated the razor like sensation when sliding a harp around my mouth. d ---------- myspace facebook

"Mother's Apple Cider Vinegar FTW! Cures EVERYTHING!"

I don't know specifically about cold sores, but other mouth sores (from a bit lip to a sore from sucking on a hard candy in one corner of your mouth) respond pretty well to pineapple juice. A doctor suggested it to me once and it seems to work pretty well. (And no, it doesn't sting, it actually feels pretty soothing.)
