Well like the title says, I thought that it was time to seek advice/critique on my harp playing.
The clip is somewhat inspired by adams front porch blues lesson on YT (Gussow.024). Its all 'improv' in the sense that I wasn't too sure what I was going to play but just let myself go.
here it is hopefully this link works: .
I'm quite sure that I lose the beat and don't move as gracefully through the chord changes as I should so please be brutally honest any comments good or bad are appreciated.
well what do you think.

Having trouble opening the link. Have QT but maybe it's an IE8 problem. Ideas anyone?
As you were. It's working now.
OK. Sounds good to me. Tone was OK cupping OK and you were able to improvise. Good shot.

Thanks for the kind words. I've been trying to sort out the way I play.
Currently I feel like I'm sucking at the harp rather than inhaling, consequently after a short while I get a small ache at the back of my throat. I've been trying to follow Brain Purdy's advice in his harpgear manual, its going to take a while to relearn I think. ---------- "imagination is more important then knowledge" - Albert Einstien

I think it sounds pretty good. Lots of feel in your style. Cool!
I bought a Double Trouble from Brian 6 months ago and still do not have a manual.

I refreshed the page to get it to play.
You fell of the beat a few places, but I like your tone. ---------- Nate Facebook Thread Organizer

"I bought a Double Trouble from Brian 6 months ago and still do not have a manual." I haven't actually bought anything from Brian yet, (I'm saving up for the HG2 + shipping) but while browsing his site I found the HG2 manual which has a large section on amplified and acoustic tone, worth checking out for those of you that are in the same boat as me (probably all very familiar advice to all the pros/old timers here)
And thanks very much nacoran and harpdude61 for the critique/comments, I'm trying to fix my timing problem, (it gets worse when I play with others, like at a jam I'm a little on edge/nervy) I recently downloaded some of Adam's jam tracks, I reckon with enough practice/grit/determination I should be able to nail it.

I like it! Only thing I can think to suggest is keep tapping your foot and practice counting while and while not playing harmonica. Timing can be tough, otherwise nice playing & I could hear similar feel to Adam's front porch playing. It's fun to try to do your own 'front porch improve' isn't it :) ?

Thanks Ryan I tend to count through while I'm not playing harp (listening to a song) but I find it really hard to count while playing, feels like one of thoes patting your head and rubbing your belly things I guess it juts takes practice.
And yes, that kind of 'front porch' blues is really good fun to play, probably one of my favourite types, nice and slow. ---------- "imagination is more important then knowledge" - Albert Einstien
