I was reading the thread about Paul Oscher and saw that BBQ Bob had a link to his website. It's a really good site with some excellent photos and music and as Bob , said some cool stories. I then checked out the links section and saw this site ...

I urge you all to have a look at this site. It's got some great stories about the deep south and blues musicains and lots of other stuff you wouldn't believe. I just spent the last hour reading some of the stories on there and I haven't even scratched the surface.

This guy (Junior Doughty) has some great stories to tell and is a great storyteller.

You may already know about this site but it completely new to me

Adam...you've gotta know this guy?

Yeah, oisin, he mentioned knowing of him. Back before HCH, I had posted this link too...very entertaining and interesting info. Unfortunately, I don't think Junior is still actively visiting/traveling to the juke joints anymore. I'd like to get some updates on what's open or not. Thanks for reposting!
EDIT:There appears to be an edit to the Links as of July this year...I hope that means Junior is still active!

I remember reading one of his stories about a house of ill repute in Natchez that was pretty funny. I drove by the location from the best I could gather during a trip thru Natchez a few years ago. He tells some great stories, indeed.

I normally judge a site by how fast the response time is, so far it's been pretty good. If you want lighting fast response time for guitar or bass the Harmony Central site is pretty good but it goes down a lot too. I'm just glad we've got a decent place to talk about Harmonics, like they say "Knowledge is Power" the more we can learn the better we'll end up playing.

I'm from a little village outside Armagh called Blackwatertown. Spent many a summer in Donegal in Killybegs, Fintra and Glencolmcille. Plenty of good music to listen to and lovely guiness and the crack was mighty.
I'm back over at at the end of Oct with the family. Hoping to take in a blues jam in a place in Warrenpoint on Co.Down if I can make it.
