So, the lower the Harp key the harder it is to do a 2 Draw? That would explain why my C harps do a 2 Draw pretty easily and it's harder on my A harp.

No. Not harder. Just requires different technique.

Took me 6 months to get 2 draw bend properly on an A harp when I started. As you say...more practice.

Thanks Oisin. I'm about 80% there on the A and 100% there on my cheap little C harp. I don't know what's different this time around for me playing harp but I'm actually getting it for a change. Of course Adam's YouTube vids have helped out a lot too.

Lower key harps have larger reeds, so you have to play with a slightly softer breath attack to get them moving before you bear down. You also need to open your throat, like when you are yawning, in order to get the lower holes to drop in pitch. Of course, deep embouchure and diaphragmatic air production are also important.

Btw, some players find it easier to get good 2 draw bends on low key harps than getting a full toned whole step 2 draw bend on a very high key harp. One is not actually any harder to do than the other--they just each require different techniques.

never thought 2draw bend was difficult on any key but 3draw is a much more difficult draw on any key
