In response to my query about the captcha--can it be disabled or replaced? for example--Macwebsitebuilder support has sent me the following reply:
Posted On September 7, 2010 05:02am Status: In Progress Assignee: Corinne Hi,
Thank you for your ticket. We added the captcha code to every new post to battle spam in message board recently and unfortunately you would not be able to disable or remove the captcha code.
If you have any further comments/questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Have a great day,
Corinne Software Support Technician

I'd do it for free...
(How ironic that it took me three attempts to enter the right code just now...)

This isn't a great Captcha implementation. My form autofill feature came up with one the other day, which means not only are there few enough Captcha's that it's looping, but that form autofills can help speed up the process. There is no audio implementation so the site isn't up to snuff for disability access. There are free Captcha systems that work better than this. :(
That brings up the question, if we were to provide them with better code for the site would they implement it or are we stuck with generic vanilla one site fits all service? They seem to have two jobs- they host and they code. Would they be willing to share that second one?
Yeap, my autofill just got the captcha again.

Ev, there are a couple ways to do a search. On Google you can type your key words and then 'at modernbluesharmonica.com' and it will Google search the site. There is also the forum archives and my Thread Organizer (and anyone is welcome to list threads there that they think belong in one topic or another). It's always tough to search a specialty site since the same words you want to use to narrow your parameters tend to come up a lot. The other thing you can do is create a bookmark folder just for MBH. We even tried a Wiki to organize all the info but we ran into problems with the Wiki people. Still, there is a lot of information and sometimes it gets buried by a lot of other posts. We could make some FAQ's on hot topics.
