Guys, I need a favor.
My other guitar man, Charlie Hilbert, has a gig at a place called 51 Main at the Bridge in Middlebury, VT on Thursday, September 9th. Here's the website:
http://www.go51main.com/
Charlie has recently left his job at a New Hampshire prep school and relocated to Vermont. He's decided to make a go, once again, as a full-time bluesman.
He is a world-class showman, a fantastic blues guitarist, a great blues bassist, and a good blues harmonica player.
If you live anywhere within reasonable driving distance, please make a point of attending his gig. Bring your harps! I'm sure he'll find a way of getting you up for a song. He is an old and experienced hand at jam sessions; this is a gig, but he still has the reflexes.
This is THE Charlie Hilbert who played ALL the guitar on the double Nat Riddles album for sale on this website. This guy is a legend--or he should be.
As Waltertore would be the first to agree, a musician's first gig in a new venue is an important gig. If you do well, the venue will have you back. If you do very well, they'll keep having you back even if you don't draw as well for the next bunch of dates, hoping to repeat the magic of your first time in.
Please do me a huge favor and show up in support of Charlie. Bring your harps.

BTW I have MANY relatives in winooski, just outside of burlington who LOVE the blues. I'll tell em about the gig and our connection in the morning. I wish I could make it. I'm broke right now, but if he's playing out of Vermont I'll keep an eye out. Hopefully I won't be broke forever. I got the too broke for a blues show blues. ---------- Nate Facebook Thread Organizer
