That was beautiful and tragic. I loved it. Why are you leaving?

Hmmm! No wonder I'm struggling. I can't seem to hear beautiful, tragic, epic or cool. Where am I going wrong?

Hope I'm not out of line here but I don't get it. I like Bach but not on amped low key harmonica.

I'm not being nasty Jim and I don't know why you are saying farewell, I hope it isn't anything too drastic.

Those aren't the words I would use either, Tooka--I don't meant to get out of line either--but "tedious" and "laborious" kind of crossed my mind--or maybe "tragic" that it lasts so long or "cool" that it's finally over. . .

To me, the beauty is that to my ear jim is wailing his heart out and expressing something that is moving him.

The sound is harsh, but I think that is the intention. To my palate, beauty doesn't always have to be pretty, just true to itself.

I hear tragedy in it too, in how it is played and the dynamics.

I am not very enlightened in this realm so forgive me but at first I thought it was a Russian piece of music, not Bach, which often sounds tragic to me like you can hear sadness and cynicism in it.

But rather than intellectualize all that, I just said beautiful and tragic.

I'm not sure what to say....

If I had any idea if he was really leaving or what was going on, it might set the stage for my expectations...

I think it is odd in this context.

It would have been better if he had dropped the mic and walked off stage at the end with lots of feedback...

Perhaps a "Jim has left the building...."
