Here's one for you-- not blues, not jazz, not rock. I think it's pop. My musical partner wrote the song, plays the piano and sings. I think it's a great song. I got to record 8 bars of harp at the 1:29 mark. One take only.
It's been on our local radio station. It's a Christmas song, so I hope it pops up every Christmas on the radio. Anyways, have a listen:

Unquestionably and unambiguously blues.

It didn't autostart!!! It didn't autostart!!! It didn't autostart!!! (Running through depression era streets as snow falls!)
It has some bluesyness, but I don't think I'd call it blues. I'd call it retro pop.

Retro? What retro? I guess when two musicians, both past the half century mark, try to make a pop song, it will have a retro flavour to it. Trust me, we weren't trying to be retro, but if it strikes people thusly, so be it.
I'm reminded of the fridge magnet my friends gave me. It shows an old goat, walking on his hind legs, with cane and glasses, down a hill. He says, to no-one in particular,
"Over the hill? What hill? I didn't see no hill!". (I know-- for the grammar teachers, "any hill").
