Is it OK to come out of the bunker after the Blues Harp Forum turned blue again yesterday?
Oh well, I'm coming out anyway. I'm coming out as a lover of traditional type harmonica playing as well as the blues. This is what I play when the blues doesn't want to co-operate with me.
Any others out there in the closet too? I'd like to hear what you play when the blues just gets you down.
Very nice tooka2. I can't believe that with all those people around, not one person stopped to listen or even make eye contact. I suppose the tourists on brick lane don't appreciate harp also at 2:40 you did walk all over the guitarists solo but I think he let you know.
Anyway good job, it was a very entertaining video. When blues gets me down I play a lot of first position songs with my wife (guitar) I would post video but (like Sasquatch) she refuses to be recorded.
I worked in Myddelton Street for 2 years and never went to Brick Lane, then one day I found it as I was visiting the Gunmakers with some friends. ---------- Andrew, gentleman of leisure, noodler extraordinaire.
Thanks tooka, I'll give that place a go next time!
I have been to Tayyabs, a Pakistani place off Whitechapel which was great, I'll look out for Lahore Kebab... Is anyone else now starving now after this food talk?!
Yeah, Tayyabs was OK, the food was good but if you go on a Friday or Saturday there are people queing all around the tables and I felt uncomfortable with people standing watching me eat. Plus in most restaurants now I needed ear plugs everyone shouts. Can't remember the last time I was able to have a quiet romantic meal.
The food at the Lahore Kebab (just around the corner from Tayyabs) I'd say was just marginally better but still noisey.
If I suck really hard on my A harp, I can just about get a few lumps of Lahore special lamb curry. mmm!

@Oliver. Here's a link to their site. I normally have the lamb Karahi Ghosht. Delicious. It's £7.00 now. The prices have gone up since I was there in January.

The only thing that would make it better would be if you could get someone to play along with your track with each of the instruments seen in the background as they pop on the screen. Remember us when you are a star!
who sneezed? The chap shouting 'Shut up' got me going as I was listening on headphones in the office and thought it was someone in the office.... till it happened again louder.
Is there audio in the background videos originally? If there is, it wouldn't be hard to dub it in. If not, we may have to track you down some syncing musicians.
Straight ginger beer is two strong for me for anything more than sipping. If I'm gonna drown my sorrows in a bottle I mix it 50-50 with ginger ale.
