Can anyone lead me to a link that would show the original tongue blocking sheets that used to be included with the Marine Bands?
I've searched but no luck so far. Thanks!

I've got one from about 30 years ago, kicking around. Is this the vintage you're looking for?
I've regretted following those instructions for a long, long, time; since I got my first MB in the mid 70s. I had a hard time physically "getting to" the 1 and 2 holes using the TB method described.
I wonder if the TB'rs that hold their harps upside down, blocked on the right or left side? I think Butterfield was an upside down TB'r. Not sure if Sonny Terry TB'd.
In retrospect, my preferred embouchures would have been Winslow's (Yerxa) NON-tongue blocked approach (Dummies book), followed by tongue blocking on the right rather than left side and finally the left side tongue block mentioned in the sheet. Pucker playing may have been mentioned in the instructions but I missed it or found the TB easier to get single notes with, at the time.

Someday I'll get good at this droid phone. Until then here's a start. The German section I've copied the url for here shows TB better than the English directions on the other side. I'll to copy those too. http://m873.photobucket.com/albumview/albums/Littoral/491110512_photobucket_7981_.jpg.html?pbauth=1_uLEBonVPfaLdh1h3YMYz2ar98yAtuZDjM4IaZD00RujriNzdkVVEDp47kLnwFOA8thN4C6OsHK2owTmxcrlyBjlIKWXuOESVVDm0Z6eM2YgTDQG2AolB2ZqH2weM%2BHWXbS%2Bmf7%2FnmWWjZ29KcFd4DbM4fyVKx3yP2nxjlhQHgF4%3D

Thanks you guys, I appreciate it!
After I learned how to play "Oh Susannah" proficiently via lip pursing, I decided to have a go at it with tongue blocking. It only took a few weeks to get the hang of it.
What a wonderful difference in tone when the song is tongue blocked! Seriously, for those who have ever doubted the TB'ers, give this a try, I think those guys are right! I'm trying to think of a way to describe the tone without using the usual TB cliches, but it's hard not to. I would say that instead of the sweet and kind of corny sound that "Oh Susanna" has when lip pursed, when tongue blocked it takes on kind of a "rougher", country-ish sound that seems to have a more rhythmic, pumping sound. Anyway, so now I'm trying to use TB whenever I can, it's pretty fun. The hardest part for me is down by holes 1 & 2, I still lip purse on those two.

"What a wonderful difference in tone when the song is tongue blocked!"
There are dead harmonica players buried all around the world who said something to that effect in a pucker bar.
Your right. Players should learn both, and any other way they can play too (U-Blocking, whatever that is NOD posted in the Practice Your Skills Thread, playing through your nostrils, heck, playing through a ruptured eardrum (which is doubly tough since you probably can't hear as well), and my personal favorite, playing the wrong side of the harmonica.)

Still working on pics but my old copy says: Just use this "tonguing" whenever you play and you'll have wonderful music the Hohner way.

@Nacoran "There are dead harmonica players buried all around the world who said something to that effect in a pucker bar".
HA! No S#*t! But, in the case of this silly little song, it sounds WAY cooler tongue blocked!
@Littoral Yeah, the instructions even rhyme!
@Arzajac Thanks for the printout and the link
