Right then we've had best stock harps thread, now lets hear your best ideas for harp combo's that work.
for example I've read from Borris that a big river with an acrylic comb really improves the sound.
I've also read that drilling cover plates can work well
so then show of your harps - pictures please!

If I was designing a harp from scratch I think I'd go with something shaped with the covers that go all the way to the end. I've really wanted to get into custom covers. I have one harp around here that has a lower cover from a Blues Harp and an upper from a Piedmont. It looks pretty awesome, like a two-tone paint job. If I could fit them on a wood comb it would be 3-toned. I'm also a fan of novelty harps. I'd love to get one of the customizers to restore one of those old banana or corn on the cob covers and seal it up with some nice new reeds. I really want a Snickers Bar, or maybe one of those two sided tremolo's turned into a Kit Kat. One of my favorite harps actually has the cheapest cover of the bunch. Someone picked it up for me at a garage sale. The cover is about 1/2 as thick at a cheap Blues Band and it is the most closed back harp in my arsenal, but the sound just comes out right through the cover... Of course, it needs constant unbending and will eventually break. No one seems to play with materials much on covers. (There is one guy who makes wood covers but that's the exception). I'd love to see what someone could do with some space aged materials- carbon fiber, liquid metal, liquid glass (Tooka, I saw another article on that spray on antiseptic glass... studies show it kills about 30-40% of germs.) If only my budget matched my dreams...
