How is the slide button triggered? This is not Vern Smith's hands free device is it?

Todd,
Tommy E is well known in Europe, especially in the Uk

An Aussie by birth, he certainly is up there with the best on the planet for guitar.

Live, he demonstrates some amazing techniques of using his guitar for percussion but I did not know he played the harmonica! Beautiful, thanks

This is Tobias Volkamer. The song is a cover of a Tommy Emmanuel tune I assume.

PT:

His YouTube channel says he uses a foot pedal to press the slide on the chromatic.

He originally did lots of stuff with his brother as the 'Emanuel Brothers'.
We used to see Tommy in the eighties when he lived up the coast (of New South Wales Australia) when we were on surfing trips with the boys,and he was the man! Hadn't heard from him for a while, looks like he's defected eh!?

I love Tommy Emmanuel. Here are two of my many favorites:

This post was supposed to be complimentary to Tobias Volkamer, but has instead turned into more of a Tommy Emmanuel post because of the title on the first video - it's a cover of a Tommy Emmanuel tune performed by Tobias Volkamer. I think this caused the confusion. The guy I was impressed with is Tobias, a harmonica player, and how well he plays guitar and harp together, using a foot pedal to activate the slide on his chromatic.

@Todd
I admit overlooked it did not know what tommy looked like but someone I know who plays guitar said he is one of those"nashville cats" who play clean as country water,wild as mountain dew-I need to pay closer attention in my advancing age-60 on 10-23-10
