Alright Hobo! I just finished one today. I looked on the how to part of this site and still cannot post a photo. It says to type some html but not where or when. If one of you can help me I will post a photo from my photobucket account, or I will email photos to anybody interested. I would like to see what others have done. We can do the photos elsewhere since this is a harp site unless, y'all out there in MBH land want to see them.

Hey Bluesnut just copy the html from the photo on photobucket and paste it in the message box here, the picture will appear when you post the message. ----------
thanks guys there kinda of cool.I made a 2 stringer they call a chugger,i want to try a 3 stringer cause there a whole lot more info on how to play a 3 stringer, but i havent decided if i will or play the chugger for now,One question i have to anybody that might know, being that the chugger is fretless,I was thinking that you could still play to any song lead wise, because if you need another pitch just slide to it.I might be wrong and was just wondering, ive played acoustic for years but never really messed with slide.Ill post some pics if i can firgure out how,Its in the video but its not a good up close view,I think it came out pretty good, and kinda frets like some old guitars i used to have:-)
links addresses dont work for me most the time i tried and it said incorrect address,i have this problem with 85% of the things i try from a pasted adress.Sorry
no luck :( any other ideas? I can email them to someone.
@Hobo: My cigarbox is a 6 string and tuned to open D. I play slide on open tunings D, E, and G, because I like the full palet of chords and octive notes you can get from 6 strings. I use a Fender squire strat with emg pickups, an old kasuga acoustic, Allen Melbert 8 string lap steel solid mahogony body with a Bill Lawrence humbucker #705 8 string pickup (#705 is the best of them) and now my cigarbox with a Seamore Duncan tele pickup installed. They are all tuned to different tunings so don't have to retune alot. I create my own corian nuts that fit over the factory nut to raise the action on the standard guitars, just like what you can buy online. If all else fails the CGB site will have them up soon.

1. open an account with Photobucket 2. upload your photo 3. click on the photo and look at the menu bar at the top or the photo for "share" and click 4. a menu should pop up. look at the bar at the top for "get link code" click it 5 choose the 3rd one down that stars with HTML. it should be checked. just highlight the code and copy it just like you would to embed a vid from Youtube and then paste on the message box on this thread.
sounds hard but once you get it you got it
good luck

Here's a YouTube vid I just made about a nice cheap and effective way to make your own magnetic coil pickups for your CBG's. And I play a little in it too! My CBG only has two strings these days. It used to have three, but one broke. I ain't fixed it 'cause I kinda got used to the sound of only two strings,a nd I kinda like it! :)
wow guys you have some nice CBG's mine is one i made, from scratch. its my 1st one I was kinda proud of it untill i seen how nice you allyou guys CBG's are.Really nice guitars.
LoL Oldwailer's gona arrest me:-) just kidding,I have a glass slide,Im trying to use but the was a couple notes that arent with a slide but man there hard to hit no fret markers so im trying to guess the right intervals and the sringss are about a inch. tall :-)
isaacallah,Ill have to sign up up over there,Yea i liked the sound of a 2 stringer,I decided to put a 3rd on because everything seemed forcus on 3,I havent decided if the 3rd is better or not the 2 string has a cool sound. What has me a gueesing is what string to use,i gueess you can use a combination of different sizes and numbers,It gets into a world of tuning and string combination's i never thought about as a standard guitar player.
Yo Hobo. When deciding to use which strings, have a look at your harps! I play open, using a slide. So I picked strings that form a G chord. That is, I picked strings that give me the same chord as the blow chord of a C harp (C, E, G) when I strum them open. I found I liked to make G my lowest note, so the strings went G, C, E from low to high. Since I lost my third string, I only have the G and C strings on now. I find I can easily detune the C string to B, which gives me a G chord (blow chord of a G harp). Also, I can put a clamp (like a capo, but I literally use a woodworking clamp from my garage) on it to change the key immediately, For example, If I'm tuned to G and C, I can put a clamp on the second fret to get me to A and D, and I can play along with my D harp.
i cant get links to work or addresses when i tried it didnt work,im under my name David Ashlock on there if you want to find me,I havent figererd out the website yet
