Giles King gave me a great CD when I was at Blues Week in the UK (U. of Northampton) in 2008: him playing with a guy named Lightnin' Willie. I just came across LW on YouTube and I'm really liking this stuff.
Good stuff, both of videos. He's a good harp player.
I love the second band. You're right, it's a great groove. The Mojo Groove, I think. Reminded me of Mystery Train, too. The band members are clearly having fun; feeling the rhythm right to the marrow in their bones.
Captain Bliss and I caught them on Willie's UK tour earlier this month. I have to say, it's nice to see a man sporting a Sante Fe Stetson and a Sante Fe moustache and actually speaking in a genuine Sante Fe accent. We get a lot of Kempston cowboys here in Camden.
I have been and recorded several gigs of lightnin Willie and Giles is a great Harp Player I have been admiring for quite afew years now. He has an amzaingly strong Vibrato. Here is a vid I took and features a great Harp solo for me anyway. I like the control he shows in first position when his solo starts. Its not too hurried and just enough tension. I really like also the way the band builds up to the amplified solo and I feel it fits really well as the song really gets going from 6:30 on and his his vibrato is what keeps me admiring his skill. what do you guys think?

Giles briefly took over Harp duties from Adam Norton (who was my teacher)with Bad Town Blues here in Essex for a time while they recorded the album Buffet Flats. He is an excellent player and a great showman. Sometimes I think some of his songs are a little busy for my liking but can't take away his awesome harp skills. I agree with you Russ...he has a bionic throat to get some of those vibratos.
I shared a little herbal cigarette with him at Adams last gig and he sounded even better. ---------- Oisin
