Since this a international board and some of us may be traveling to other parts of the world/country, where do you go to hear your favorite musicians?
I like the Stanhope House in Stanhope, N.J. Its been opened and closed a couple of times but everybody has played there (caught Adam there w/ Filthy Rich years ago). Due to reopen soon and I cant wait, there is nowhere close by me right now to see national acts.

Good idea for a thread! Thr RiverShack, on the outskirts of New Orleans on the River Road in Jefferson Parish, is built into an old store that still maintains some of its old painted-on advertisements outside. GREAT food(I recommend the alligator sausage po-boy with a side of fried pickles)and a great selection of GOOD beer on tap. It's a choice venue for music on weekends as well. They like blues/blues-rock acts, and Friday-Saturday nights usually have an automatic good crowd. This is the first place I ever saw Johnny Sansone play, and I've played here a couple of times as well.
I'll add more later-the N.O. area has many great spots. ----------

@Silvertone I've played at the Stanhope House and I am saddened that it has been closed for so long. I also heard it is reopening very soon and I am really excited to see what the future holds!
I've played at the following places and seen some great bands there too. Not specific to blues though.
Mexicali - Teaneck, NJ Crossroads - Garfield, NJ Maxwells - Hoboken, NJ Sarah Street - Stroudsburg, PA Bowery Poetry Club - NYC Bitter End - NYC Sullivan Hall - NYC Castaways - Ithaca, NY

Hometown brew is SLO Down Pub, in Arroyo Grande, CA. Our band hosts a weekly call-up jam. ( Had to stop the write in sheet...too many fragile egos and whiners ). Mix of music styles thruout week: Celtic, gypsy, jazz, bluegrass, world, reggae, etc...besides Blues.
The Clubhouse just outside SLO is slowly building a scene.
Goin' north, JJ's in San Jose has consistent good blues. I've heard Santa Cruz has some cool places, but I've not been.

LJS,
You know my man, Jim B from Arroyo Grande? He's a Land Cruiser dude like myself. Just curious. You'd know his wagon when you saw it.

I'm a big fan of the Triple Door here in Seattle. It has a great stage and ambiance. The food and drinks are a little pricey, but they get international acts and the stage is almost theater sized with nice lighting and hidden monitors below the floor. It only holds 250 people, but I've seen Robert Cray, Tommy Castro, Janiva Magness, John Nemeth, Rick Estrin and many more there. There is no bad seat as the seating is tiered and faces the stage.

Is he a player ? Blonde Epiphone ? If so, then yeah. JB was in house last night. Not sure of his wheels.

Deck...is that the Empire outside Botanic train station?. When I lived in Belfast in the early 80s that was a derelict building and they were trying to get planning permission to do it up. I Used to live in India street just up from Botanic station. What a fecking excellent place the Holyland was in those days. Don't know what it must be like now. ---------- Oisin

Seattle, WA.
Gotta agree with Snakes- the Triple door is a fine, intimate moderate to upscale spot for food/drinks and entertainment.
Me? I like the Sunset Tavern in Ballard. Divey, yet tolerable and friendly. Spectacular hired help and music and ambience.
For the rowdier stuff, see The Funhouse, where you'll wear the cheap beer your neighbor was holding. For blues, Highway 99 blues club really feels good, but the booze is on the expensive/weak side. Their BBQ is top notch. Jason Ricci plays here and blows the roof off the dump. Lee Oskar stops by every last friday of the month. Yeah. It's a good thing.
