I occasionally take lessons from Pierre here in Tucson. He sent me this link today of his audition.

That darn Sharon...she probably hates banjo too and any music that makes your toes tap.

Just what kind of harmonica was the second larger one he was playing? Kind of interesting.

Joch, what time in the video? I see a chord harp (actually a small one by chord standards I think) and a golden colored chromatic, maybe a Hohner Chromonica Gold? Or a CX-12 Jazz? Or do you mean the second harp he played, not the second larger? (He pulled out a diatonic at the end but I don't think he played it.) Or maybe it's not a chord harp. It looks about the right size to be a Hohner Chromatica.

Hohner Chromatica

Hohner Chromonica Gold

CX-12 Jazz

Hohner

Any guesses anyone?

I'll email Pierre tonight and see if he checks his email tomorrow. He's a little erratic at responding to email these days but I'll pester him.

I can't believe how much the crowd dug it - but I'm happy they did.

His act is kind of 50 years out of date. His flight of the bumblebee was very good; his Mozart wasn't.

Joe, that's just random and totally uncalled for. If you have nothing substantive to say, just keep it to yourself.

Next time I see a post like this I will just delete it. EDIT: done.

The harps being used were the CX-12 and a Polyphonia.

Pierre just called me and said that he used a CX-12 and the large one was a Hohner Chromatica 263 (no slide button).

He told me it is almost like playing a piano keyboard layout. Each hole also has a blow and draw reed of the same note. Bizarre!

Pierre wants me to come by soon and drink some of my homebrewed Belgian beers while he fixes a chromatic harp for me. At 74 years old he has so much energy!!

GH - If you're going to delete comments based on substance and niceness, you're going to be deleting a lot of stuff here. I have no issue with your censorship, but I would appreciate you employing consistency among forum members.

Each hole is 1/2 step apart from each other on that Polyphonia he's using.
