The JR show in Brussels is canceled. He's replaced by Guy Forsyth, which is cool, because I've seen him live some 15 years ago and he was great. ---------- http://www.buddybrent.be
So from what I gather he was being a jerk to his drummer and they all quit. If that's the case then it's really his own fault ---------- ---------------------------- WORLD CLASS HARMONICA PLAYER
It takes a huge amount of work to be a band leader and tour like those guys did (200-300 nights a year)for modest pay at best. My guess is that Jason couldn't or wouldn't keep taking care of everybody and keep doing the same thing they have for the last few years, for whatever reason, so the band could not hang with it. Keeping all the balls in the air is not easy in the music business....
Chris, I think most of what is posted here is many of us just wanting to be sure that Jason is ok, and if he does not want any of that, then other than letting him know that people are concerned,so be it.
Well if your whole band quits on you of course you have to reformat it. . . durrrrrr ---------- ---------------------------- WORLD CLASS HARMONICA PLAYER
read the initial post's article, buddhaha. that is where the "the entire band quit" comes from. and until a reliable source gets quoted as saying they didnt, it will be taken as fact.
"published story is both inaccurate and incomplete..." that still doesnt verify that the "entire band quit".
i was only pointing out, when you asked, "who says they quit" where it came from.
but to answer your question; for myself, i would say jason is a reliable source. i dont think any one would argue it isnt. only a fool might bring it up as debatable.
what you are using as factual is a quote from winslow. not a direct quote from jason.
many of us wish the entire band well, just as we would probably wish 90% of the world's population well. but curiosity is one of mankind's strongest virtues.
just an individual's view. (and does the cursing and "STFU"-ing really help in your arguments?)

if you think this is a dumb thread then stay out of it. let it die. i think it is as a good a thread as 1/2 the other ones. i, also, think it is getting as pointless as many others. you knowing him adds no validity to anything you have posted.
so put up or STFU! or just let the thread die. i think the latter is the wise course, but i got money on you!
To me it ain't that freakin' important! It's not about a cure for cancer or peace in the Middle East. It's a BAND.

i heard that steve perry is deciding to call it quits with journey....huh...after all these years? what will happen then? ---------- Kyzer's Travels Kyzer's Artwork
Personally, it is disappointing because I myself do believe that Shawn Starski made the band along with Buckweed. No offense to Jason, but those two have skill that is untouchable by so many artists. Listen to some of the stuff Shawn himself wrote, he has completely amazing talent, and Buckweed, too. Honestly, I find this to be the end of an era, as I feel every musician has their great musical partner. I think those three were untouchable and now I can't see the format going much further without them together. Time for a change.
"Drugs....merely conjecture on my part. Not really interested 3rd party.
I've seen gronkers come and go. Butter was spitting blood in a bucket two weeks before he said BYE.
Can we please strangle BAD harmonica players that give all of us a bad rep ? Especially OVERPLAYING OVERBLOWERS ?"
If you're not really interested why insult someone twice with speculation and opinion? Jason is a member here. Those comments are against the forum creed.
Adam please lock this thread, it's getting nasty.

"So he's selling his amp and his whole band quit."
No Jason is not selling his amp. The amp for sale is the Bassman he traded for one of his HG50 amps from Brian Purdy who now owns it. As I understand it Brian Purdy is selling the amp and planning to give the money to Jason.
Regarding Jason and the band. I don't think it really matters that much what the reasons are for any supposed split. I'm sure Jason will come back with another good bunch of musicians and be playing for his fans again as soon as possible. ----------
I know there are a lot of you on this forum who really admire and care about Jason. Why don't you let this thread die? I would hate to have my personal business the subject of a thread. ----------
