This is my first crack at a website. I need to tighten up the text, but the basic layout is all there. ---------- Mike

It's very nice. Everything works well. I like the media player at the bottom - out of the way.
At work, we don't get to run Flash Player and so I compared the experience of visiting your site from home (with flash) and here at work (without). It degrades gracefully, meaning that I am shown a coherent site even without flash. The media player just appears as a black bar at the bottom, but it doesn't interfere with browsing and getting to the content of the site.
The layout of the events block on the front page doesn't work as a thin column. It messes up the layout of the whole page. Yes, it will look better when there are more news events listed beside it (I'm assuming they will be listed in sequence on the front page?) but it will probably look really full. Overload!
The mailing list block is bare. Maybe give a one-line reason for joining the mailing list? If you just leave a blank entry for someone to leave their email address, they usually just equate that with spam and ignore. You want them to join your mailing list; what's in it for them? You can also add the same mailing list block on your contact page so that that page offers something for fans as well as for those who want to hire you for a gig.
Very nice. Much better than most artist's sites...

Thanks for the input. I can't find a way to get the news to not be the whole news piece. I'd rather it be the title and first line of the news...then you click on it to read the whole thing.
That would move the YouTube up to the same level as the dates and I could just center a picture on the bottom. ---------- Mike

I like it too...
As a little comment: The links at the top are kinda crowded. It's diffictult to read, because you don't really know where one link is ending and the other starting. Either you could make the font a little smaller or separte them,.. or something.

I've been tinkering with the homepage to tighten it up. I took off the video, plugged my latest album, and moved the news.
I used Bandzoogle through Reverb Nation. I am paying, BUT it is super easy to use, all of my stuff is in one place, I get my own url, my own email, etc. It is really sweet.
It was also cheaper than doing it all on my own which would have for sure required me to pay someone to do it for me, lol.
The only thing I don't like so far are how certain templates won't let you size the pictures the way you want, and how the news is like a blog instead of something to click to read. I might be able to fix that with some work, but for as easy as everything else is, you'd think that would be an option. ---------- Mike

Cool deal. It would be interesting to know how much upcoming work or offers you receive that you can attribute to having the site. ----------

Lol, so far two offers in a day. Really though, NiteRail is not really gigging anymore after this fall, so I wanted to start my own page for my own band. I am hesitant to make it all "Mike Fugazzi Band" until we are fully rehearsed, so it is a mix of stuff just about me and then referencing the band. Eventually it will be almost all about the band and then have a blog section for me.
Another huge perk is it is synced with Reverb Nation. Reverb Nation is free unless you want add ons. It is an AWESOME resource for bands.

Mike, I like the smaller font. ´what about putting the links inbetween " | " so that their clearly separated... I hope I'm not too pedantic, It's just something that seems kinda confusing for navigation.
