"Honey!..these are the guys that talked me into it".
That is what I told my wife when she asked why I wanted her to write a check to some guy is AZ named Chris for 6 custom harmonicas....lol
Wives do not understand the need for custom harps either....not until I promised to start that new bathroom remodeling....then it made sense to her.
After talking to a few of you, reading posts. past and present, I decided to go for it.
Chris' harps get great reviews and I couldn't be more excited that he is building these harps for me.
Thanks to everyone who helped answer my questions!

I hope your wife doesn't buy this lame excuse for your extravagant spending.

You will be wondering why it took you so long to spend the money. It is rebirth to finally have a harp that plays the way you want. Problem is that it is like crack, once you start you are never going back to the shelf :(( ---------- -- BTMF --

I fixed that problem ten years ago. Separate checking accounts. She pays her share of the bills, and I pay mine. A little goes into savings every week, and the rest is for extravagant spending.
I don't care what she buys, and she doesn't care what I buy, as long as the bills are paid.
It's a great system!

If you're going to spend money on stuff, take ownership for it and don't pass the blame off on someone else. Accept whatever punishment your wife will dish out and take it like a man. :)

I'm lucky. I've got a killer wife, but when I do goofy stuff and have to pay the price. I pay it. It's much easier that way. It's the path of least resistance.

Joe L......I was making a joke....are you implying that my wife is so stupid that she thinks someone I don't even know forced me to order new harps?
We bank jointly and always discuss major purchases...have for 30 years next March.
I'm sorry you don't know what lol means and thanks for ruining my fun and attempt at humor. You must be another one of those people that gets their jollies by insults and efforts to piss people off.
What am I doing? I don't have to explain myself to someone like you......but I am embarassed for you.

I have a joke here, but in light of recent events vis-a-vis the PC police.....I have no idea if it will get me in Dutch with the authorities......so I shall refrain.

No PC police here. Just don't talk about Catholic priests who molest small boys, or how you love women as long as they're flat on their backs. That tends to make our forum members very unhappy, and I'm tired of fielding complaints.

I've been married for 28 years....joint account all the way. Last Spring when I told my wife SPAH was being held in MN where we live, she said, just right yourself out a check for $500 and keep it so you know you have the money to go.
And after watching me working on new harps all the time and cussing at them a bit maybe, she said, "why don't you order some of the custom harps." So I got my order in for a D and Bb.

I'm with Joch230! Nothing like a spouse that supports your harmonica ventures....Hey, if two people can manage a bank account together they can do anything!
In the last 3 years I have purchased probably 3 dozen harmonicas, two amps, 3 mics, several blues CDs, been to Gindick's Jamcamp, Hill Country Harmonica, several overnight trips to see Satan and Adam, Jason Ricci, Kim Wilson, Charlie Sayles,..etc.....and now ordering custom harps.
Yes, there are many things around the house that we put off so I could have my fun.
She is happy I found something I really enjoy and is very supportive. She is my biggest fan (maybe my only fan) and is very supportive when I jam with local bands.
When ya get married at 18 and have a combined total of $220....a joint account made sense at the time.
