I'll bet not too many of y'all have hear of Matt Schofield - he's a young British guitarist/singer/composer and he is GOOD. I mean really good. We're covering a few of his songs in my band. He is in the middle of his first U.S. tour and somebody put up some youtubes.
Saw him live at Biscuits and Blues in San Francisco a couple nights ago - he was just phenomenal.
Note all the bass is coming from the keyboard player's left hand, even when he is soloing. He is amazing. This is not their regular drummer, although he is Robert Cray's drummer - last name Hayes. The drummer that Schofield recorded his last two CD's with is even better
What I love about his stuff-- definitely "modern" blues throws in some really cool chord progressions - and these guys have groove for days.
