I've been playing for a couple of years now - there's a short sample below. Any advice on what to work on appreciated.

Sounds like You're on the right track to me bub. I was expecting something completely different when I clicked the video on. You might get some comments on intonation and embouchure, but for two years of playing I say bravo...keep doing it to it. I enjoyed it.

you've gotten that oldschool feel. I like that.

I have this jam track too and could never figure out what to do with this cut and I've been playing for 4 years. When I playback my recordings I always note I could improve on my tone, clarity of notes or hitting them all on time and I guess you would call them adornments. Trills, vibrato, tremulos, slaps , pulls and the like and of course hitting the bends right on.

Great job. I'm going to copy your improv.

On a second listen, it sounds like You've been swiping from some swing era trumpet players (You can never go wrong with that). I dig the fiesty vibtrato.
