I was reading a post by Pharpo and the idea came to me that it might be fun (and educational for some) to post some of your favorite examples of Delta blues, Chicago style, Piedmont and Hill Country Blues. I'll be back in a minute to contribute.

I decided I wasn't informed enough on the sub genres, so instead I made this list. I'll link some videos as a get a better idea. I know I like the sound of Piedmont style blues particularly.

Piedmont Blues
Chicago Blues
Delta Blues
Louisiana Blues
West Coast Blues
Swamp Blues
St. Louis Blues
New York Blues
New Orleans Rhythm & Blues
Blues Rock
Memphis Blues
Holler Blues
Gospel Blues
Country Blues

And for good measure:
Skiffle
Hokum

It would be really cool to design a sort of musical family tree that showed the influences of the different styles.

Thanks Nacoran, that's a great little list of links.

Keep deciding you're not informed enough, it always ends with something useful for all of us ;-)
