---------- My weekly big (4 hours with a 10 minute break) gig backing Ashford and Simpson on their "Nuttin but the Blues" show with its parade of super singers And me with a Huge cold sore (Owwww!). Yea I took the Valtrex Saturday but it's still there. Also I've been so enthralled with all the verve at these shows I haven't exploited the challenges: A tiny stage where my amp is sideways shoved into the wall (I am PA miked) and the monitor is not in proximity of my ear. I guess if their up dancing and howling for my solos i'm doing my snake charming thing well though! My best

we got accepted and play tonight we get 20mins of Fame:)

Just in. Even with my monolithic cold sore the verve just transcended any challenges. These up-out-of-their-chair gorgeous people of color are my favorite audience ever... And the singers! This icon from the 80s (and sidekick to Patti Labelle): Nona Hendryx (seriously: once-upon-a-time the most outrageous science-fictiony looking woman ever in music) was so "Yes"! when I did my solo on a song Valerie Simpson and I have been doing with the band. Even my depression smiled. d
