-I've been twice to a new jam in West Ham in London and wanted to tell any of the UK guys here about it.
It's not like any jam I've been to before and I highly recommend it to anyone who gets a chance to attend.

The name of the jam is ARCH 1 and as the name implies it has been created under a railway arch. The guy who runs it, Robert, has spent 2 years getting it up and running and has set it up a rehearsal studio by day and has finally got an alcohol license. He's also done a nice job of making the place comfortable and is a very friendly guy.

What's the most amazing thing about this jam is that everyone...and I mean everyone gets up on stage and starts playing as soon as it starts. I know that sounds like the worst possible thing you could do but it works and what is best about it is that you get to try out things you normally would get to do at a normal jam.
For example the drummer and bassist decided to go for a smoke so I played rhythm with a low C Echo Vamper and the rest joined in...the rest being another harp player, 2 guitarists and a sax player. And it sounded great!!

After attending quite a disciplined jam for many years this has been a revelation to me and I would recommend this to anyone who can get there.

It's a late jam so You turn up at say 9:00, he locks the doors at 12:00 and you play away till 2 in the morning!!
