In another thread someone uses the expression (it doesn't matter who was being discussed) "controlling an audience", and it reminded me years ago when I used to watch the Young Musician of the Year Awards on TV. When it got to the finals, what were the judging criteria? The judge said, "we aren't looking for technical expertise - they've all got that, it was what the qualifying rounds were examining. What we look for in the final is the ability to control the audience."

I'm not sure why I mention it, it seems kinda obvious in the light of day.

Hi Bro it's all about interaction with the audiance commanding a performance working the crowd,

Today our Harp Group did a performance for Autistic
teenagers not much happening at first,
one young lady came to the stage said to me i like you to sing a song,
it was my turn to sing next anyway i could have just said yes ok,she would have just turned around went and sat back down,

i took the advantage speaking to her and pointing to the audiance i said i will sing a song for you pretty lady, and the rest of the good looking ladys and gents here today,

Bang that was it they just lit up singing back at us Got my Mojo workin, clapping hands dancing just haveing a great time it was Fantastic,
when we finished it was even more fun it took us 4 hot dogs countless slices of cake and fizzy drinks to get out of there, we signed autographs to go on there guest list,
parents thanking us for letting them see there children haveing the time of there life man i felt good:)

the GEO told us we where the best act they had booked and thanks me for reacting with them getting them all worked up, she didn't mind that it would take the rest of the day to get them back under control,
i just said thats ok if any one is going to cause a riot it will be me we all had a good laugh i won a few hearts every one was Happy,

i say work that crowd dress in a Banana suit sing like nastyolddog barking wear a snapy suite, bowler hat whatever it takes to connect with the crowd you will have the time of your life,

they will remember you and ask you back next time they want a good time,
Playing music is a performance Art you are the artist add plenty of color get all abstract it's part of the act have Fun:)

Oh oh Nasty, you fell for the trap! They weren't asking for your autograph. They needed to know where to send the bill for all the hot dogs, cake and fizzy drinks!
