I believe the promoter is Kim Wilson's wife Amanda. She's surely got the connections and knowledge to put together something of this calibre. Kim said in an interview that she's so knowledgeable about the music she makes seasoned player and historians uneasy! Hard to say from a photo of the back of her head but I'm bettin'. JD

JDH - Yes you're right it is Kim's Amanda who is organizing the event. It will probably be the best event of the year for fans of classic blues harmonica.

Thanks for the heads up SirSuckyAloty! I will certainly see you there! Are you going to come up for the Brendan Powers/Chris Michalek workshop next month? It's going to be very cool! So much harp stuff happening this summer! I can't wait!

When is the bp/cm thing happening. does it cost money. i don't do over blows. is that what they're all about. Well id like to do over blows but my harps are in need of replacement. Is there a web site. anyway see ya at the rhythm room.

Sirsucksalot: It's happening on June 2nd. Brendan is playing that night at venue called The Compound Grill (http://www.thecompoundgrill.com/), and I think the workshop will be held there earlier on in the night (i'm not sure about that, but I think Chris M will certainly let us know). Chris mentioned the price is $25, which is VERY reasonable. I'm sure there will also be a modest cover charge to see Brendan's show later in the night, but that will be VERY worth it.
FWIW, Brendan doesn't play in the overblow style much. I'm pretty sure he's a half valved guy (for the most part), plus he plays his own custom tuned diatonic slide harps, and other altered tuning harps. Regardless of whether or not you OB or valve or not, these two dudes will learn you stuff you did not know how to do before.

i cant make it to brendan powers show, im working that night. but i have requested the time off i need for Amanda's roller coaster for sure. nothing will keep me from going to that. sucks cause bp's thing sounds cool too. have fun Isaacullah.
