I live in Albany NY. I've done some volunteer activism down at the state capitol from time to time. After 911 they tightened up security. They took the opportunity to search people for weapons to take away anything else that might be used for civil disobedience, including musical instruments. I went through once and they didn't notice my harp, but the next time through they tried seizing it. I convinced them since at that point I was just going back in to bring a wheel chair to our group leader (she usually just uses a walker but it had been a long day) and I was coming back out right away, all withing visibility of the security station to let me keep it. It was a tough sell. (I only had my harp with me because I was working a table most of the day and I wanted to practice quietly when things got quiet.) ---------- Nate Facebook
I've never really given it a thought before now, but a large group of stone-cold beginners on different-keyed harps(amped up, too) could be used as a terrorist attack... ---------- > Todd L Greene. V.P.
