Hello everyone, just checkin' in, I'm a new harp player (addict!), been playing almost continuously now for six months. I did make a couple of false starts years ago, but we didn't have the resources and support that are out there now, so both times i gave it up after a few weeks, but now I'm hooked.
Actually I was surfing YouTube looking for guitar videos when I stumbled across a JP Allen Learn to play Harmonica advertisement. I took the bait and ordered his course (I only give it a luke warm recommendation) but that first step led me to Adam and Ronnie and the others, the rest is history.
Can't wait to one day get the confidence (and know-how) to post a video, in the meantime I'm having a blast. Last night I must have spent four hours on Gussow.008 (the Sonny Terry lesson), and I cranked it up again when i woke up. Jeez I'm obsessed!
See you at HCH.

Hi,

I was a newcomer a couple of months ago too. Welcome to the forum and I look forward to seeing/hearing you play on Youtube. Where are you from?

PS: isn't that sonny terry lesson great? It's been one of my favorite ones too.

Thanks for the welcome!

Kyzer Sosa-I saw your Gussow.111 (plus card trick) on YouTube, that was pretty good!

I'm working my way through all the the threads from the oldest to the present, there is a TON of good stuff here.

The secret is to simply skip any thread that has "custom harmonicas" in the title! Jeez, those guys be windy!

Reading through all the history is a daunting task. However, it is quite interesting because you can nicely follow the development of knowledge and dynamics of the forum.

Did you check out the forum archive?

Welcome to the forum! Another trick to getting caught up on this forum is to skip any thread longer than about 20 posts--that just means somebody is grinding an axe of some kind ;) . . .

Hello and welcome! I'm fairly new too, and I've had quite a few questions. I found most of my answers by using the Forum Search. It would take forever to start at the beginning!
