That's a great story! I'd love to to see someone do the same for inner city kids, especially in impoverished areas, and have a company like Hohner sponsor a well known player. I know the next Little Walter is out there somewhere.
you never know who may be the next world class player. i have done this on a much much smaller scale. so far i have not seen any of the kids i have given a harp to but that's beside the point. if my mom's dad had not given my father a harp the year i was born- and if my mom had not kept that harp in a box for some 16 years after that- and allowed me to pick something from that box as a legacy and memento-i may not be a harp guy today.
to me it seems that that guy just needed a purpose, and not all the drugs, most of which were probably prescribed to counteract the other drugs.
